Walmarts 8" Queen sized mattress................

Postby b.bodemer » Wed Jul 19, 2006 8:36 am

I know there are a lot of ways a td sleeping area can be finished when it comes to picking out a mattress. My concern was a great nights sleep.

This was a little pricey, $229, but it is a 8" Queen sized mattress from Walmart. It is a full 60" x 80". The bottom 5" are high density foam and the top 3" are memory foam. It has a nice off white cover.

I can get it in and out through the doors by rolling it up and using some of my kayak straps to make it smaller. It should store well indoors through the winter and will be perfect for those times the family visits and I need an extra bed!

Julie...yes my td is 5' wide. Even with some 1x2 framing the mattress fits right around it.

Steve....glad you are already using one and like it. Makes me feel better about spending some extra $$$ on it.

Barb
ps..........I've got to get off the board now and work on my td!

Heck that thing is $259 out here, but it's still cheaper than any other memory foam mattress I've seen.

I have a Walmart mattress and LOVE it! It was worth the cost. I figured that since the main function of the camper was sleeping, I wouldn't skimp on the mattress.

We bought the same one at Wal-Mart. I cut it to fit. It's GREAT better than my own bed. Buck

By chance, does anyone have a weight on that Wally World mattress? I'm planning on using my Select Comfort bed in the teardrop, but it belongs on my box springs in the house! I might want to pick up the foam mattress if it isn't too heavy.

I don't know the weight but it not that heavy. I handled it myself with no problem. Buck

I'm in NY this week..but still have the box at home in Cleveland. I'll check to see if a weight is posted for it when I get home.

The funny thing is I put mine in the td to make sure it would fit but I'm building it over my buddy's house. Since Helen and Bill have only one spare room.........and considering the fact I'm buiding my td in Bill's garage............I put it in my truck and then took it home. It's now on top of my queen sized bed until it's ready to go back into the tear. This is almost a picture worth posting . The bed is soo high it's ridiculous.

They aren't to heavy. I remember unloading a truckload of them ( I work at a Walmart distribution center) and, because of the way they were loaded, I couldn't use the forklift for about half of them.
