Painting aluminum tips

Postby Modstock » Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:05 pm

My TD has a few scratches on the side that I'd like fixed but I know the whole sides would probably need to be painted.
Any tips on kinds of paint I should use ?
Could I roll it on , ect ?
The aluminum is white but was thinking of going to a Teal for a retro 50's look.

It needs to be acid-etched, sprayed with an appropriate primer and then top-coated with a spray gun. HF's $15 gun would work fine.

Todd aka KTM_GUY did a fine job and used Raptor Liner. You might give him a bump.

I'd live with the scratches. They're going to happen no matter what the finish.

My first TD had scratches above the fenders and I covered them with oval vynal photos.
How about something like that, there's vynal graphics and wraps available.

Yeah, I was thinking about some swoopy graphics on the side like bigger rv's.
Was gonna doll it up to sell it but.
IDK, I may just leave it for the next owner. (Blank canvas) for them.
