I'm getting ready to do the interior of my TD and of course I'm concerned about condensation and mould.
I live in Canada and in the spring & fall the nights are cool. I am most worried about moisture condensing on the walls then running down the walls and collecting at the floor. Then not drying well, mould and rot will be the long term result.
My thought process is this.....
1. There will be moisture in the trailer.
2. I would like to paint the floor with a mould and mildew resistant paint.
3. The corners will be sealed with some kind of calking.
4. I am installing mattress slats on the floor to create an air pocket. The ones you'd get from IKEA (air movement)
5. I'm putting a low pile berber carpet on the walls. (I want the moisture to stay above the matress where is can dry)
6. Putting in a A good Max Air fan.
7. Installing vents at floor level through the kitchenette bulkhead to let air in under the mattress.
Q. What kind of paint should I use for the floor? (I am concerned about off-gassing in the long term)
Q. What kind of calking should I use to seal the corers inside the wee trailer?
