It would be interesting to see the wide experience that is out there.

We've always had pop ups growing up. But since I didn't do the driving, buying, planning I didn't count those years. I guess I'm technically not even in the first year since I'm not finished.

...I am just getting started with tears, but I have been a minimalist/primitive style camper all of my life and if you gave me a monster RV, I would just sell it and get a tent, that is until I learned about tears :ok:

Just got mine three years ago, so I have to make up for lost time.
Why do anything unless it is fun with your teardrop

Yeah but this thread is even older than that. This thread is 4 years old.

I camped with my parents in a Shasta in the 50's (wish I had it now!!!!), then started with a 2 man tent on the back of my 1st husband's motorcycle.... Bought my very own 1st pop-up in 1982, a 62 Croft, then added a 60 Hawkeye in '88... had them until 2001, added a 27' Allegro in '97 but it cost too much to drive it then, so still took the pop-up's!!! in 2001, got rid of all of them... went back to tenting it, until I fell in love with the teardrops in '04, and built mine in '05..... Teardrops are the best way to go... Yes, the gas has gone up, but I'd rather take the Cherry Drop than spend the $$$ elsewhere! Guess I've been towing since '82.

Began by pulling my 8 ft hydroplane boat to the lakes when I was 16, 59 years ago. Since then, hauled cargo trailers, 5th wheels, and toads behind the motorhome, plus towing the teardrop about 10,000 miles.
