Quilting Bee anyone?

This is where the gals can have their very own discussions...

Miriam, I ordered the Yosemite Falls pattern and we will play around with it when it comes. I know what you mean about enlarging. I found this tiny drawing of porch sawn balusters and kept enlarging it a Kinko's until I was able to make a pattern. They look really nice on our porch along with the fluting and beading I did to cover up the turned posts that I didn't like.

We like this quilt too and may buy it for an alternate until the other one is made. It's relatively cheap and the bear scene is centered but will either have to be folded on the edges or cut down since it's 89" x89". Danny

Hey Danny, be careful and try it before you cut anything down. Remember that when you add people the blankets come up. Looking good made up won't help you if you end up without covers. :R

The other thing you can do is make the medallion as is and add borders. ;)

Miriam, I've taken into consideration the needed amount when adding people since our 66" sleeping bags laid out flat are a smidgen short. I emailed the seller to see if it's available in a twin size as that would be OK since we won't need to have it lay over the outside of the tear like you do on a bed ;) . The medallion quilt that's on that wall is 50" x 60" and we would need to add to it which I'm not interested in doing, just rather make adjustments in the queen sized one. :D Danny

Betty, I still haven't received it after waiting almost 4 weeks so I don't know where it's made. If you like bear things and teardrops then you should get the Bears Gone Fishin' Woodie and Teardrop salt & pepper shakers. There is also napkin holders and towel holders in the same theme. This website has lots of that bear stuff including the above mentioned. :D Danny

Norma finished this beauty a while ago.

I picked out the pattern, (one time when she dragged me into a quilting store) but I think her real inspiration was one of the times we were blessed with sharing the water with the real thing.

Very nice job Norma, that is beautiful :applause:  Is that for your tear? It looks a little small if it is  I received the pattern for Yosemite Falls and after looking at it I asked Jane to put it away in her sewing stuff  Danny

No wonder she wanted $4K to make it. It looks like a road map to some far away land, so many curves etc. too complex for us. Danny

Now I feel really bad. Perhaps when you are sitting around you can photo copy sections and play with it. If it is small pieces it can get nerve racking but remember you were going to make it bigger. :NC

Danny....those type of projects look best in Batiks...Hoffman Fabrics make a group/ line that are especially spectacular in a design like that, and have some that are specific to the McKenna Ryan designs from Pine Needles...Doug
