deal on 12" reg. Lodge dutch oven at amazon w/free ship

Postby martha24 » Tue May 22, 2007 1:09 am

Right now I found Lodge Original Finish 6-Quart Cast-Iron Camp Dutch Oven which is a 12" reg. depth for $30.15 with free shipping. It is on clearance so it won't last long. But seems to me if you want that size it is a good deal. I hit others on clearance last week, so I don't know if there is more or not as haven't checked whole web site.

Dean,
I got a 12" deep & a 8" Lodge on clearance just after the dam gathering for a total of $60 total w/ free shipping. So my money is spent at the moment.
But wanted to let others know about the deal, as it seems to be their last clearance item at the moment. I was there checking something else out and happened to hit upon it.

I got that one early in the sale. I'm gonna try it out this weekend. I now have two lodge 12"-ers, one 14", one 10", A Camp-Chef 10", a bunch of skillets, and a waffle-iron. I have two cheap-o's from Harbor freight that will probably end up as planters!! Warped, poor castings!
My buddy across the road says I'm a lightweight! He's been cooking/collecting for years! Has about a ton!!!

Martha, thanks for alerting us to the sweet 12" Lodge deal. One less is for sale. I'll soon have a DO. Before I start building a teardrop to go along with it. Is that how this hobby, madness, compulsion works? Hey, I made a baby step toward participating in the proposed SLO Teardrop Gathering and DO Cookoff. Yeah, that's the reason.

Steve,
I'm glad you got in on the deal. :applause:
Just wanted to make people aware should they be interested.
Hopefully I'll get to catch up with you one day, as we aren't that far south.

Neighbors are celebrating a 21st birthday, so I'm up late. Just checked Martha's link above to Amazon.com. There's one 12" Lodge DO still for sale for $30.15 with free shipping.

Steve,
Enjoy, this last weekend I got to test the two I got at Amazon, an 8" & 12". Worked great.

I didn't need another 12" but I did but a 10". I ordered a 10" DO, some 16" tongs and a grill press all for $50 delivered. They shipped them all separately in big boxes. My wife thinks I've been spending hundreds at Amazon.

Matt I got a smile out of your attempt to splain the seemingly gut driven :)
small trailer types here who expand their exploration into the culinary skills
of Big Iron, and came uP with my own suggestion of a fictitious acronym for the forum.

To-DO's TD's & TTT's

:D
I like the implication of Doing or making a TD or a small trailer but gut driven ~
Yet for those that know ~ the DOin ~ is a double meaning of DO - IRON & Build - ACTION ~

Well, I waisted a few minutes conjuring uP this little bitty ditty...
Guess I will get back to exploration in to wayward recipes that are
off the grid of the recipe part of the forum.
