Wind Resistant Paper Towel Holder

I've had many inquiries while camping and on this forum about the paper towel holder on my teardrop. I've seen many solutions for keeping the wind from unraveling paper towels and I'm sure they work. This one simply works right out of the box. I could no longer find any at Bed Bath & Beyond but found this website that has them for sale. Danny

I use Maine sand to hold mine in place...

When I was in Maine last fall, the paper towels were doing what paper towels do in the wind... I put some sand in a wal-mart type plastic bag and pushed the loose part of the bage between the hatch and holder and tied a knot on the back side.....

The part of the bag with the sand in it rests on top of the paper towels and has held them in place, even in other states.

That shure beats my method. A 3/8in nut on a piece of string. Maybe I'll look into getting one of yours. There is nothing like looking back at the galley ans seeing the whole roll of paper towel unfurlled and trailing about 100ft behind.

yours is classier than what I had planned...a 2 liter pop bottle trimmed to width and slit open to wrap around the paper towels.

I originally bought it for the kitchen but but following year I built my TD and swapped it out for another type. If a 2 liter bottle works for you that's good Danny

I use a little hardwood teardrop shaped holder I ordered from a member of this forum who makes them. I am computer challenged and can not find the thread. The item is beautiful and very inexpensive for the amount of work put into them. Maybe some of you search experts can find the link.

I bought one of those bamboo ones from WalMart. Used a velcro strap the first trip to hold the towels in the wind. Later trips, I added a piece of wood extending out over the towel roll, hinged at the top back of the rack and pulled down by a spring attached from the wood piece to the bottom edge of the rack. It works great.
