Yes we do have a Pot Luck on Saturday Night.

Usually about a month before an event we will post some sort of itinerary. We spoke about it last weekend. So by the end of the week or so we'll post something.

TearJerkers
Liberty Bell Chapters
Spring Fling

As we approach the "Only 4 Weeks Away" mark for this event, and everybody is gettin' all Antsy about going Camping. Its time for us to make some kind of itinerary.

For those who have been to other Gatherings will attest, a lot of the day is spent wandering around, meeting new members, scoping out other trailers and in general just BSing.

Our last time to this park we did a day trip to the nearby Bass Pro Shop in Harrisburg. We were thinking of organizing a few hour day trip there this trip as well.

Bass Pro Harrisburg

Gifford Pinchott Lake is a great kayak/Canoe Lake. If you have them I'm sure others will bring them too.

A Saturday night Pot-Luck Dinner is planned at 6;00pm. If possible, posting what you are going to bring is always a good idea so others can plan.

Following dinner will be a Campfire, if everyone brings a little bit of wood...then we have a lot.

Our Conservation Fund Donation will be in affect and we would like to get that in to the Rangers ASAP Friday Night.

For those not familiar with the Conservation Fund Donation.

Conservation Donation

The Conservation Donation is a $5 per trailer Donation to ANY State Park where any chapter has a Gathering, over and above the camping fee. Private Parks do not apply.

This “Donation” is not mandatory, but is strongly suggested. These monies would be given directly to the Rangers, publicly to be put towards anything they see fit…Hopefully their Volunteer Programs, which they all have. This will do many things for both us, and the Parks we choose.

First and foremost it will aid in the volunteer Conservation projects that ALL State Parks have.

Secondly it will recognize TearJerkers, no matter what Chapter, as supporters of Conservation Projects in not only the park we are in at that time, but all State Parks.

Third its Just a nice thing to do.

As many will attest the Conservation Fund makes Problems go away too.

Nothing is set in Stone. Activity suggestions are welcome. Start thinking of and posting those Pot-Luck Dishes.

And I can't wait till May 30th.

Happy Trails

Len

BTW, I'm bringing Corn on the Cob for everyone.

How about a trip to Cabella's over north of Reading. Took us about an hour to get there from York.

Two weekends ago I went to Gettysburg, and then up to Gifford Pinchot for the night. I stayed on site 261. It was about 1/2 hour slow ride up to the campground from Gettysburg. The new welcome center is now open, but they don't have the electronic map anymore.

Perhaps we can start a potluck thread on the TJ site. I'll be bringing my meatballs that seemed to go well at Parvin
