Is it all about the Teardrop, or all about the camping...

Postby caseydog » Thu May 22, 2008 8:28 pm

Okay, I came up with this fun little poll while thinking about some of the incredible Teardrops I have seen on the forum, and at the gatherings.

My Teardrop pales in comparison, but then again, I got my teardrop to replace a tent and backpack for camping in my "advancing" age.

So, here are the choices..

1. For me, the building of the teardrop is the most fun, and going camping in it is icing on the cake.

2. For me, going camping is the most fun, and the teardrop is just a way of going camping.

I look forward to hearing what others think. There is obviously no right or wrong response. Just different.

Okay, this was supposed to be a poll, but I don't see the poll options that I wrote. I've done this before, but it doesn't seem to be working this time. Help from an admin would be appreciated.

CD

I tried to fix it and failed  I will make a note to Mike S. Sorry.

For me it was all about the TD and having a place to duck when fishing. Originally was just a rolling fishing shack. works great.

All of the above.

It started with camping and wanted something I could pull with a small vehicle. The teardrop was the perfect answer. I didn't build, but I'm having a great deal of fun modifying and personalizing. I like building boats and I enjoy the build more than the use. I do intend to build someday in the not so far away future... and wazat will be used for camping while the other will be just for the sake of having the project. So to your questions, I have to say both.

I gotta say 50/50. I think its like the chicken/egg thing. I love camping, and I love creating. I'm not sure if I decided to build for the sake of building or for the sake of camping. Either way, its all good!

The goal for my first teardrop was simply to avoid paying outrageous motel bills every night on a crosscountry trip to visit our daughter. Since then it has morphed into a hobby combining the building with the communal camping of the gatherings.

I was big into camping back in my bachelor days, but then got busy with life, my business, wife, kid, etc. and the camping went by the wayside. The TD was what inspired me to get back into it.

For me, camping in a teardrop is the fun part, building it was icing on the cake.
