Can anyone of you boys there in Nort America or England or..tell me what this is besides a lantern? The fella that has it does not know anything about it. No name or date or. But it looks like it could have a silver or aluminum paint on it thats why but its coming over to my home. And for 10 euro. Not bad price regardless. I just hope its not a modern day Lantern.

Now this lantern has some sort of a gauge on the filler cap. Pressure Gauge maybe?

I'll bet that is just tarnished nickel on it. It's fairly old, can't make out what is written on the globe. It'll clean up nice, there ought to be some markings on it somewhere indicating make model etc....Cool with a manometer on it...(pressure gauge) Doug

Does this manometer then maybe say its an oldie? You may be right Doug that its nickel that has tarnished. I sent off an email and I,ll see.

Are them gauges on old colemans too?

Look here:

http://terrence.marsh.faculty.noctrl.ed ... antns.html

It almost looks like a MEWA (Metall Waren Kombinat), Leipzig, Germany. It is a green lantern towards the bottom.

That could be what it is but not certain. Also I see there is writing on the glass or globe, but cant really tell what it says.

I sent out an email for the lettering but again maybe cant rely on the lettering if the globe is not original? But again it may be.

I just received email that the lantern has not been painted so looks like it could polish up real nicely, he states that it has worked and been in use.
