Jack,
yes it is the same SKU and I have added that to the post.
The sticky idea is a great one! If anyone else has any other specs on the trailer by all means edit my post and add the info.

It would be a good thing if we could get another sticky started with the specs for the Harbor Freight trailer(s).

Since this new catagory was added it seems like it is the perfect place to repost this info.

That is some great information and as a sticky it will be really easy to find for those that are looking for a trailer.
I started out with nothing and I still got plenty left.

5x8 specs?

Postby kayakrguy » Sat Feb 25, 2006 9:08 pm

Folks,

Any chance the TSC 5x* specs could be put up too? It would help those, like me, interested in the wider trailer. Also, the weight of each trailer without load and the tongue weight of the trailer without load would be helpful...

Ahhhhhhhhh, the great tire debate. Some people will tell you those tires are fine, and some will tell you they are not large enough. Do a search on this board for more on the great tire debate.

I can tell you that I had a set of 205/75-14 goodyear marathons that I test fit on the trailer. There was enough clearance with those tires that I could slide my hand in between the tire and frame to the large knuckle. It was close but they went on there. Of course the fenders would have to come off.
Stock tires are 20.5 inches tall , the 205/75-14 tires were 26 inches tall.
BIG DIFF!

trailer tip

Postby starleen2 » Fri Sep 21, 2007 9:06 pm

Tractor Supply Co Model SKU #1000215 GVWR- 1500 lbs Tip: the trailer tongue mounts to the trailer at only two points with hardened bolts. When I built my camper using this trailer, it became oblivious that these two bolts were the only things holding the tongue bar to the trailer assembly. I guess this was a design feature to allow for a tilt bed feature. Upon the completion of the camper and the first trial run, I noticed that there was considerable movement between the two bolts and pivoting within the joint. The 2X2 angle iron on the frame was also flexing. Every movement of the camper made the two joints jump and pivot like a see-saw. To remedy this, I welded the points were the bolts passed through the tongue and angle iron connections. BE SURE TO REMOVER THE TRAILER WIRING HARNESS FROM THE TUBING BEFORE WELDING! This eliminated the problem.

I’ve been reading the forums for some time , so I joined . Now, of course I have questions . I’m interested in the Tractor Supply (Carry-On) 4x8 NF SKU 1000215
Will the 13” wheel /tire combo sold by Tractor Supply mount in place of the stock 12” and work with the fenders mounted ? My current interest in the trailer is as a utility hauler, the as a possible Teardrop conversion. Thanks in advance for your help.

My suggestion is to take one of the 13 inch tires out there with a sales associate and check it while you are there. However I suspect that the current location and height of the fenders will prevent a direct bolt on.

Greetings. Does anyone know the curb weight of this trailer?
I see that surveytech thinks ~250. Any exact numbers?

I'm new to the trailering world and I'm liking this unit more than the bolt together style. The axle spacing from the above specs puts it at damn near a 60/40 split. There is a TSC about ~1 hour from me.

Thanks, Regis

Don't remember who, but Somebody here took the time a while back to Blueprint the TS 4X8

I use this drawing a lot since my "Bare Bones" trailers sit on it. Who ever did it, thanks.

I'm having trouble getting specific info about the Dexter axle and why it was significant to list it in the bill of material.

I'll go to the Dexter link and try some more.

I keep coming to a note that states out of stock or superceded. I fired off an email for info.

Gonna call the TSC in my area to check stock.

Len..........your welcome.

Remember everyone........these are the specs of a trailer I purchased
in 2005. Stuff could have changed since then. Bet the price has.
