We are expecting on of the biggest meteor (me-tear) showers for years tonight.
You could google Leonid Meteor Shower 2009 and check out the results.

It should be visable across the northern states

So how about ' Leonid me tear'

After checking the sky this evening, as its 11.45pm over here at the moment, Ive had another look on the interweb and it's should be showing tomorrow night. :oops:more info here
I hope the sky's as clear tomorrow as it is tonight . It would be just our luck to have clouds and rain.

It is supposed to be clear here tomorrow night, so I may head out the the country for a look. They are fun to watch.

Name

Postby danlott » Tue Nov 17, 2009 7:20 pm

How does the "Spartan Hoplite" sound for a name. Seems to fit the look. Here is a picture I found that could give me some design ideas.

New profile, name and graphics

Postby danlott » Thu Apr 22, 2010 12:30 pm

I have not did any new real work on my trailer, but I have been busy redesigning a little. With the help of Dave (DMcCam), I have changed my profile. The new profile is very similar, although a larger scale, to Dave's Atma Travelear. The new profile allows more headroom for the front bunks and also more room in the galley area.

I have decided to name it the "Hoplite Traveler". It will have a cream color for the body and the primary color for the graphics will be orange.

I do want to send out a big thank you to Dave for his help with the profile.

Dan

Pretty..............

I was going for really cool or neat, but pretty was not it.

This is a man trailer. A "Hoplite" is a warrior. A warrior is not pretty.

Time for another redesign... :)

Oh, by the way, thank you.

It looks BLOODTHIRSTY!!!

Like the mini "Warrior Windows" along the roof line.
They look great, but should add some nice natural light.

That is an awesome looking trailer. The only problem that I can see with that build is that your going to have to camp by yourself in the boonies cause your not going to get a minuets rest from tours and questions in any public camping spot

frame primered

Postby danlott » Wed May 12, 2010 3:12 pm

I have a little progress to report. I have modified my frame. After wire brushing the frame I use Jasco rust converter followed by oil based primer. I have also refurbished the springs and axle. Just have to finish painting the frame and put it all back together.

Started with this:

Now it looks like this:
