Postby Glennanderson1 » Tue Oct 04, 2005 12:13 am

OK World... We are looking for a Teardrop. Here is what we are looking for. !940's + or - 10 years. Origional restorable condition. Wood inside (no paint) Rear Gally in rebuildable condition. It don't have to be the best but must look cool!

I am in Oregon near Salem, so Left coast only please.

Glenn,
Check out Jerome's (dguff) '46 Kit in the Hall of Fame.
It's for sale and he should be back here on the forum anytime...
He's on his way back from a cross country trip in his new Modernistic teardrop.
He hails out of Eureka, CA...

Nice Trailer

Postby Glennanderson1 » Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:13 pm

In my many hours of looking on the internet for Tears I found his site last week. Nice restoration. Looks like it may beyond my budget though... Would like to find one restorable origional.

We have a 26' 1948 Admiral Trailer and there is something about the inside origional wood that I love!

Thanks alot... Glenn

Have you considered building vs rebuilding? You can make it exactly like you want. Look thru some personal galleries and see what others have done. There are some home built tears that look like the originals. Everything you need to build is right here on this site. Jim

Build VS Rebuild

Postby Glennanderson1 » Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:53 pm

Thanks for the idea... We have an origional 1948 Trailer and there is just something so cool about that. For now, we will look for an old one that is origional and restorable not needing re-built to maintain the origionallity of the post war era.

Thanks!!

Still looking for a Tear!

Postby Glennanderson1 » Sat Oct 15, 2005 3:33 pm

Great idea, we had a some family issues and was not able to make it. We are mobile DJ's on the weekend and sometimes we get tied up. Keep your eyes and ears open for us, I am sure there is one out there with our name on it.

Thanks!

Glenn,
If you get off of 5 at Grants Pass and take 199 down to 101... It might be worth your while to take a look at Jerome's '46. I know you said earlier, that it might be out of your budget, but he is willing to have people make an offer... (It would cut out about 10hrs of driving time too)

Dean, sounds like he's going after that Ken-Skill in Paso Robles. Looked to me like it was going to be a complete rebuild. :hammer:

Have a good day.

Only 2 1/2 more days until my next Pot-Luck :R

Yup... That's what I thought too.
Looked like it needed a bit more than a good polishing that's for sure.
Oh well... at least he'll have a frame and some original templates to work off of.

You are Correct

Postby Glennanderson1 » Sat Oct 29, 2005 3:09 pm

After the owner swore it was structuraly sound, I drove 775 Miles to get it yesterday to find it to be JUNK! Everything is GONE!. The owners say they did not know but it cost me 1550 miles of driving, $200.00 of fuel, and 26 hours of my life!

We are still looking. How do we get ahold of the guy with the Kit to find out what the price is?

Thanks,

Glenn

We Bought Jerome's 46 Kit Teardrop

Postby Glennanderson1 » Sat Nov 05, 2005 10:19 pm

I drove down and picked up the trailer after work Friday and pulled it home this morning. A great job was done on the re-build, we have a few galley changes in mind but another day. I slept in it on the way home last night and found it to be quite and comfortable.

Thanks to this site for help.

We will see you down the road!
