Barb, I'm so very sorry to hear about your loss of Ocoee. They burrow into our hearts and never leave. I hope your new pup, Paddy, enjoys camping and the great outdoors too.
I took my dog, Farley (pic in album), on his first tent camping experience this past weekend. He did quite well. I was worried he'd keep the campground awake with his high-pitched, ear-piercing bark, but he kept the decibels in check. Besides, everyone else was in hard-sided behemoths. We were the only crazy ones in a tent. :? Yeah, it dipped into the 30's the first nite. Thank goodness for goosedown comforters!
Can't wait to start building!
Take care,
Lil M.

Barb,

You might have warned us that the picture that we were about to view was phenomenally cute! I am a cat person, but when I saw little Paddy, I actually considered adopting a puppy.

I hope that you and Paddy will have many adventures to tell us about. On the best-sellers list, "The Adventures of Ms Paddy and the Teardropper". :D

Thanks Todah.

I do have a cat at home...............she weighs in at about 15 lbs. Paddy is only 6 lbs.

So far the cat rules the house and won't allow the pup to get too rough.

It's a lot of work raising a pup but it is already paying off. Paddy sleeps 9-10 hours at night, rides great in her crate while traveling, fetches like a champ and this last week has certainly worked right through some of her earlier shyness issues with other people.

I don't know who's having more fun..........Paddy or me!

Here are some of her latest pics:

We leave late June for a 12 day camping trip. It's time the rest of the world gets to meet Paddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As many have said, condolences on the loss - those special ones are never replaced, but what a fun friend to have found! She does look like a great friend & possibly a fun handful.

For the containment concept, I'm a big fan of a puppy bin; I have 2 -- a cocker & a sheltie both could jump over the fence (pictured below), but stay. The sheltie is quite an avid squirrel hunter (think UP). but she stays. I never leave them out without me. I also have crates should they be desired (by either the dogs or me -- I'm a big fan of crate training). They sleep with me in the tear at night.

geez...this reminds me of a story a comedian told....

"did you know they have breath mints for your dog?...honest, they really do have breath mints for your dog now"

" I told my dog that I would buy him breath mints when I knew he was serious about his breath, and stops lickin' his butt"...

Paddy turned a year old.

She sure is a fun little dog who loves sharing her dog bed every morning(in front of the heater vent) with our cat, Honeysuckle.

Barb, sorry for your loss, I understand how you must have felt. I had to put down my first mini horse and our sweet Newton (mini schnauzer) in the same year. I think I was a zombie most of that year. We still have two mini horses but the rascals that have stolen our hearts are our two yorkies. We are unabashedly CRAZY over these dogs, we are not embarassed either, it's positively shameful how we love these two little girly dogs. I hope to soon get a teardrop in Texas so we can take them even more places. I pet them constantly because I know one day I won't get to. Glad you got another co-pilot.
