Most expensive item in your build

Postby dh » Fri May 07, 2010 10:35 pm

OK, so what was (or will be) the single most expensive item in your build?

Mine is the 12volt, 12" flat pannel LCD TV/DVD combo.

dh....you ought to put in "other" in your poll...on the Voyager it was a close race between tires/wheels and paint, on my new build...hands down...siding. Doug

I had most of the wood, and I got some great prices on the plywood., but for me it was the hardware. The door handles (3), and the windows were the main expense. So the choice for me would have to be other. I think I spent about 500 to 600$ in materials. The CPES wasn't cheap, but makes sense to protect the woody.

Had to vote for windows, as there was no door option. I have the prefabricated tinted glass door/window combos. Bought 2 of them... not cheap! About a 1/3rd of my budget

The fenders were the most costly.Shipping to Canada is just about the same price as Grant's fenders.

Definitely the fenders. The skin was expensive once added up (fenders still cost more), but I didn't have to buy it all at once.

 Mine would have to be the total of the 2 plastic piano hinges I bought. Yes 2  I cut the first one wrong and had to by another one and when the camper is 6'6" wide they aren't cheap.

I voted for windows..I first thought the trailer may be the most expensive item, and it was the most expensive single item at $280.

But, the windows for the sides are $117 each (need two), and the window for the top section is $95. The freight will be about $75, so $404 trumps $280.

My most expensive item(s) may have been everything I screwed up and had to replace/redo.
