Fat Bike Tour

Postby b1kebox » Tue Jun 08, 2010 8:41 am

The "Alaska Odyssey" article in the June 2010 issue of "Adventure Cyclist" http://www.adventurecycling.org/mag/index.cfm is about a 350 mile tour along the Gulf of Alaska on Surly Pugsleys and 4 pound packrafts.

They had to have a bush pilot fly in a replacement crankset and later had a Pugsley fall off a packraft only to learn that with the fat tires it floats.

Not at all like my rides on the beaches of the Outer Banks of VA and NC.

My latest new bike is working out well. Just not enough time to ride it, except on weekends...

You'll have to tease me with the snow country reasoning in December.

New Belgium Brewery is just up the road in Ft Collins, they give those Fat Tire Bikes to their employees. You see them all over town. I want one!
