I am sooo excited

Postby PKCSPT » Thu Jul 01, 2010 10:12 am

Getting a hitch on my car next Wednesday and first trip out will be on the July 11th for three days and two nights.
Been buying the very basics I think I will need. Need to keep it very light for my little beetle. Only thing yet to decide on is a shower/potty tent and porta potty (or the plastic bag in a busket with kitty litter) or dig a hole behind a tree. Where I am off to there isn't even outhouse and I CAN"T WAIT ! !

 Get a shovel unless you plan to take out the waste. At some point we all have to make the decision about waste. There is some stuff that changes solid waste to harmless goo. This can be buried with no harmful effects to the environment.

Clean water and bleach will help too.... 8)

Have fun and be sure the share the fun..... :pictures: :pictures: :pictures:

PKCSP,

Check these out:http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=camping&search_constraint=0&tc=0&ic=48_0&ref=+125872.125888+125872.416280&clicked_tab_value=All

I have one that I bought from Wally Wrld that was very inexpensive. It is not shown online though. The kitty litter w/any non-flushable option is a very good way to go!

How exciting! Launch out near, far, and wide in your teardropping adventures! :applause:

Use a local facility or a bag and the trash can. Rangers frown on hole digging. Have fun!

I'm not so sure. I have had cats most of my childhood and early adulthood and have observed their box habits. While the cat litter method is a good way to keep all that messy stuff from leaking, I don't like the idea of standing on the litter to do my business. I'm not thrilled about the idea of using my hand to cover it up, and I doubt that there will be a wall nearby to wipe that hand.

However, the biggest concern that I have about using kitty litter is that I am not confident that someone will come by regularly enough to clean my litter box.
