Does Driveway Camping Count?

Postby caseydog » Thu Jul 22, 2010 10:50 am

I set a goal to camp every month in 2010, but I have not camped in July... yet. It's been too stinking hot to enjoy camping around here this month.

So, if I sleep in my TD one night in the driveway, do you think that should count toward my goal?

Will it count if I cook and eat outside that evening before sleeping in the TD?

I'd say as long as you don't allow yourself to retreat to the air conditioned comfort of the house, yes. Ya have to rough it a bit to really be camping, right?

of course it would count...Duh...

I went out in the garage the other day to make sure my camper was still there, you know what I mean...

I laid down on the bed, just to study the intended locations of cabinets and what not, you understand...

well, I must have dosed off...guess that counts as my first camping experience in the new camper

napping while camping is still camping

camping while napping?........ gray area. Like what is a tear drop..,

I have my camper out on the driveway today, air conditioner on... just in case I need a "camping experience" later.

Driveway camping counts the same way as backyard camping
If you are out of the house, it's camping
My wife has done it with the dog just to get her used to the trailer :D

From Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary:

Intransitive verb
1. to make camp or occupy a camp
2. to live temporarily or outdoors --often used with out
3. to take up one’s quarters: Lodge
4. to take up one’s position: settle down --often used with out <camp out in the library for the afternoon>

Transitive verb
to put into a camp; also: Accomodate

 Yes, I do believe you're covered in at least one of those definitions.

Happy camping! :)
