Bike Frame Fence?

Postby Oasis Maker » Fri Aug 06, 2010 9:51 am

I have to say, this is a very clever and whimsical idea. I'm just not sure it fits the house or neighborhood. Perhaps it's the different color frames? I would have painted everything the same dark brown/bronze as the windows on the house. I think that would have looked very cool. The bike frames would have more of an element of surprise too as they would be discovered with a closer look.

That actually would be a very cool venue for it.

I see a lotta stuff like this in Cave Creek and Sedona too. The first thing I thought of when I saw that picture was the Town Dump in Cave Creek. They have tons of sculptures made out of scrap and stuff like that up there, and the concept would probably sell for top dollar too.

Funny, just gotta know your market - and markets can sure be funny.

I'm not sure I would be "wildly enthusiastic" if MY neighbor put up a fence like that, but I do appreciate "recycling" and the creative use of discards.

Cheers,

Gus

I like it... :D

I am not sure where I need a fence..

I have bicycle wheels on posts.. marking my driveway.

On my trails out back.. I would like a property "marker" .. sort of like a town line sign. I might just park ... or fasten in a tree.. an old bike.

One thing, that has to be the quickest design to erect. After you get the top pole anchored, you're just sliding bicycle frames through their head tubes on it and droppin'em down. Be done in no time.

Up here, unfortunately, it would be wrecked :x . Neat idea though

At least it isn't a lavender-painted house with purple shutters and an orange and brown car sitting in the driveway. That happened in the neighborhood of a workmate of mine.

Maybe the owner also owns a bike shop and is trying to write the fence off as advertisement?

It reminds me of the late '60's, early 70's... a kind of retro-looking idea.

I love the idea

It reminds me of Grant's Farms in St Louis! The big gates that you see the Budwiser Clydesdale's and wagon coming out of on comercials, is conected to a fence that looks like rought iron! But really its hundreds of old Civil War rifle barrels!

People around here use old skis to make fences with. I like the bike frames better there just much more subtle.
