On the Website, the steel Allez goes for $730

Does anyone know how much it weighs, in say a size medium?

Mike...

This 52cm ( 2010 = black tektro calipers and levers ) is ~ ( bathroom scale ) 28lbs.

The stock ones are even heavy-er ... ( alex wheelset, nasty solid steel cogs on cass, stamped steel chainrings on alloy crankarms. ... but, then again. Its a complete bike for 500$ is  Just noticed the DT levers are a lot further up the DT tube , closer to the head tube, than the older lugged steel frames. Also  )

That's a pretty bike, but 28# does seem kinda heavy.

Care to venture a guess what the weight of the frame itself is?

Yes, it does ... ( gonna try to make this somewhat pc ... ) at this "price point", light is not a selling "feature".

... and I donno, anywhere from a third to half the overall weight.

Just shooting from the hip, frame and fork, I'd say 4 pounds. You're right, that's not very light...

Mike...

P.S. Found on the web... Remember that what you lose in weight you gain in many other departments. A light steel frame is 3 to 3.5 pounds. A SUPER light Aluminum frame is 2.5 pounds.

Not only that, but old frames where measured from the center of the bb to the center of the top tube... new ones are measured to the top of the clamp...

So, you're looking for a 72cm.

... 64's are common ...
