teardrop with loo for a tall person - impossible?

Postby jaffa » Sat Feb 04, 2006 4:42 pm

I'm looking for a tiny trailer, to fit a 6ft 6er - and it needs to have a loo impossible?
The best i've found is the adria action bit of a teardrop hybrid and 2x the price.
or a tab teardrop but it's a portapoty in a cupbord - not ideal,
can anyone sugest anything helpfull or should i give up?

Porti potti in a cupboard? Hmmm...that sounds like my TTT design. Only it's in a low cabinet that will be used to sit a cooler on when camping. I'd like a toilet with holding tank, but that's getting outside the who KISS principal behind these TDs/TTTs, and more weight and expense. At least, I will have a Loo of sorts. At our ages, my wife and I would be trippin to the bathrooms all nite if we didn't have one.

Jaffa,

'Nuthin's impossible

With a port-a-pot, you have to lift it up, take it to where ever you're dumping it, and do the unpleasant deed.
Then a quick rinse, and you're done.

With a permanant toilet, you have to tow the whole trailer to the dump station, get out the "sort of clean" drain hose, hook it up to your trailer, then slip it in the drain hole.
Then pull the knife valve to dump, then go inside to flush/rise the holding tank.
Then use a hose to rinse your drain hose, and put it away.
Meanwhile, your nose itches real bad...but it's okay to scratch it 'cause you were careful and didn't get anything on your hands...right?

If you use it a lot, and don't want to move the trailer just to dump, you can use a portable tank on wheels, but then you have to do everything twice.

Another advantage to the portable is when you're driving home, if you really have to go :frightened:
and there aren't any restrooms in sight, you can just pull over and "relax".

If you're starting from scratch, installing a toilet isn't hard to do.
The trailer may need to be bigger than a standard tear, but that's okay because it has to suit you.

If I make my TTT short enough that I have to bend over when I stand up, can I call it a tear???? Huh, can I? Can I?...nah...I guess I can't.
But, what the heck... I like it!!!

You can't put it on just any old hitch. It only fits a No. 2 reciever

6'6" porta potty

Postby Miriam C. » Fri Feb 17, 2006 9:49 pm

All jokes aside, If you fit in your teardrop you can do anything but stand up. Try "The Pet" and make like a budda with your news paper on the floor. If you are as old as some of the rest of us you will have assumed the correct position.

Second it the "Luggable Loo." It is a potty seat that fits on a 5 gal bucket. Again assume the correct reading position.

...some of you who are interested inna unit a step up from a portapotti but not as complex as a full holding tank unit might want to look at these...Dale, one of these might work out well in your application

Jack, those are really nice, but look like a permanent installation. I really want the potti cabinet to sit my cooler on top of, so the potti must slide out for use, so I guess I'll stick with the porti potti. WM sells the model I plan to use. If I were to build something larger, I would consider these.
