Identifying an old bike?

Postby Mark72 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:16 pm

Ok bike guys, My Dad Had an old bike he brought home from work close to 30 years ago. When someone started complaining about the bikes the company done away with them. It is a 26" cruiser style bike with no name plates. Where do I start to identify this thing?

My bet is that it is a Worksman http://www.worksman.com. They have been around for a very long time and are basically bulletproof heavy monsters.

Not as easy as you think  I had to do a search as I did not remember the manufacturer, just the bike.

Yeah but I gave you nothing to go on other than the bike came from a factory. Good call!

Bob these things are TANKS meant for industrial use and abuse and made in the US not ROC. They have an interesting range of products.

It's gonna take some work to whip this old jewel back into shape but I am going to go for the retro look. It may ride sans fenders for a while while I am working on it. I have yet to see one with the forged front fork ends on it like this one has. Leads me to think that this bike has some age on it.

I used to work at a shop that supplied Worksman bikes to several factories near here. We also serviced them of course. They are tough as nails. Built for HD day in day out use by who ever grabs the handle bars and rides them..
