Got a few things done this weekend. Sanded epoxy filler. Two coats of STIX primer on exterior. Hatch and rear hinge installed!

Many thanks to Grant Whipp for the hinge and installation advice. It all made sense after talking with Grant.

A good job on the hatch. Looks like you'll be camping soon.
Kirk, a great build. I have watched yours from the start.
All the best,

Whitney - you got that right!

Cliff I will get those pics for you. You are right the detail of the hurricane hinge is and the galley lid is a little known mystery.

Well, hello all and good day.

You know that fancy paint I was bragging about. Turd. $200.00 disaster. The one thing I was really confident about was painting this thing. Huge Fail.

The paint was super thin and ran like nothing I have ever seen. Whats the number after A zillion? Thats how many bubbles were in the dried paint.

Im taking a break to collect Old Coleman Lanterns. Thats right Doug Hodder and the boys have got me.

See ya in the Vintage Camping stuff thread!

Help Im being held captive in a Coleman Lantern Factory.

Sorry about the paint issue Kirk especially the $200 kind, I've got one Coleman lantern so far and I paid $10 for it and its not that old. I just haven't found any old ones I wanted to pay what they were asking for them . Keep working on the paint issue, you'll get it.

Thanks all, This is a good place to have a fail.

Terry - Yes that is the product. I have been experimenting with that product for a year on small samples. Over a big area it has to be sprayed, no exceptions.

The product that fixed the situation is P29 DTM WaterBorne Acrylic . I had to do a bunch of sanding (which I hate) then the DTM. It is better now.
