Coleman Keepers Campfire come on in!

Lanterns, stoves, etc... anything old!

Postby doug hodder » Sat Nov 12, 2011 11:46 pm

And you gotta be able to tear one down and do a full resto on them just the same as a lantern. Takes more work...but then that's what separates us from all the other "wannabe's" How about this....nothing newer than '75. I was going to say much earlier. Doug

OK taking into account the suggestion: amended qualifications are:

1. Must have at least one single mantle burner - more is preferable
2. Must have at least one double mantle burner- more is preferable
3. Must have at least one stove (doesn’t matter what type) - more is preferable
4. Document a full restore on a lantern – A full strip down, pull the valve assembly, strip the paint, derust, polish and put back together rebuild with a lighting to prove it works.
5. Document a full restore on a stove – A full strip down, pull the valve assembly, strip the paint, derust, polish and put back together rebuild with a lighting to prove it works.

All Coleman Models must be pre 1975 in order to qualify

 Wow you guys got it bad. Real bad. Went to a flea market last month and found a whole bunch of lanterns, only I was strong enough to be picky and came home empty handed. At the vintage trailer rally in September I brought a restored 1960's Coleman Stove for a door prize. I was just happy to see someone want it. During the speed round my DH grabbed one just like it only in rough shape. :? Why? Why? He said he felt sorry for it and want's me to fix it up for him.

Guys..if you are serious about having a patch made, I just remembered that the guy who is storing my trailer loves to dink around with photoshop and has made the label design for my DragonFire Root Beer and DragonFire Ginger Beer. He has made logos for people's home bars, too..that have been used on double old fashion glasses. He does really good stuff.

So, if you want, I can give him a project. Things I need:

The name of your group. Think of something really cool or that has a good acronym.

What other lettering do you want (T&TTT?)

Red lantern? A teardrop trailer?

I want to give him some ideas to play around with, just to get the ball rolling, if you are serious about this.

I also know of some patch places to have them done..we have patches for each scooter rally we put on and of course have our 'colors'..so we have stinkin' patches and know where to get 'em.

Lemme know!! Can't let the Waffle Doggers have all the fun!!

I think any Coleman Keeper patch needs a red 200A or a Christmas Tree 200A!

COLEMAN KEEPER - like the name - needs a teardrop (if only an outline to save on color counts) and either a 200A(old Coleman collectors site uses a a 200a) or 220 green. Definatly the words T & TTT somewhere on it

You guys crack me up! I think it should have a Boler not a teardrop. ;)

And I am amazed I actually qualify for the "club".

Page one artical 14 of the Coleman Keeper letters (the scribbles and foundation of our newest and coolest of organizations within an organizations subgroup) clearly states that, by order of Doug, that one shall have TWO stoves - one of which will have to be painstakingly and meticulously taken to the bones and repainted and reconstructed and made to have fire. Oh yea and you have to show all the details with lots of pictures. :lol

Twirling pie plates would be good too.

Someone better be keeping track of all this because, like in every organization I have ever been in someone is going to want to see the RULES.

I also nominate anyone who has not been around for a while to be the President. That way when that person comes back they have a nice surprise waiting for them.

I nominate Cliff or Larry, or Sharon.

It is now written and cannot be undone.
