Help lost my magic beans recipe

Postby Aaron Coffee » Mon Nov 21, 2011 9:28 am

I have temporarily misplaced my recipe for magic beans. Anyone have the recipe for magic beans that was in the cookbook given at the first ITG?
Thanks
Aaron

Ask and you shall receive. Since I created that cookbook and maintain it, I thought you might like to get it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Magic Beans

Ingredients:

1 cup green and red peppers, diced
½ lb. bacon, cut into small pieces
¼ lb. ham, cooked and cut into cubes
    3 cans pork-n-beans
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 small onion, diced
    1 cup brown sugar
    ½ cup ketchup
12 oz. home style chili sauce
    1 Tbsp. mustard

Directions:
    Preheat Dutch Oven
    Brown Bacon and ground beef.
Add Onion, green and red peppers.
    Cook Until tender.
    Drain Fat from oven.
Add Brown sugar, ketchup, chili sauce and mustard.
    Simmer 15 minutes.
    Add Pork-n-beans and ham.
Bake 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

Coals:
    8 – 10 on bottom, 10 – 12 on top.

NOTE: makes an excellent dip if any is left over.
