I got home from work about 1:00 this morning, and was just asleep when the phone rang. It was my son in law telling my that my step son had committed suicide some time yesterday or the day before. He was going through a difficult divorce and I guess he just gave up. We don't have any details, just he didn't show up at my son in law and step daughter's house like he was supposed to, so after numerous unanswered calls, they called the local police and asked for a "wellness" check. 4 hours later, the Clark County NV coroner came by to tell them he was found dead. My wife, Gina, was there; they had gathered to have an early Christmas.

Please pray for my wife, Gina, our daughter, Kristine, his estranged wife, Angela, and his four children, aged 12 to 18. This is going to be a tough Christmas.

Heavenly Father, You are Sovereign, and I know nothing happens that You don't either cause or allow, and I know that You work all things together for good for those who love You, who are called to Your purpose. It is difficult to see Your will and purpose at times like these, but we love You and trust You. Please hold us up now, Lord. :worship:

Please keep my Dad in your prayers. He passed away this evening at the age of 83. He went peacefully in the hospital tonight following his battle with cancer. I know he's in a better place now and with our Lord.

Please visit this site, and read the story and see pictures of this sweet little 4 year old, a co-workers (my boss) daughter. This little sweetheart was stricken at Christmas time with an aliment that is yet undetermined. It is severely affecting her life.

Any prayers you have to spare will be greatly appreciated.

...not one to usually put stuff like this out there BUT, we need a prayer or two sent our way...you see, Marlene, my wife(aka thepoorgirl) went for her bi-annual checkup for her poly cystic kidney disease and they found a 4mm and a 5mm aneurism in her brain...needless to say, this has thrown us into the panic mode...we have an appointment in Shreveport tomorrow(Tues, 24th) to see a specialist in inserting a platinum coil into the aneurisms to seal them off...this is fairly cutting edge stuff and this Doc is supposed to be one of the best in the country(don't know what he is doing in Shreveport)...so, we're nervous, haven't slept in a week and could certainly use all the positive thoughts and prayers we can get....

...on top of all this, my arthritis has gotten so bad, I can barely walk and had tentatively scheduled surgery to replace my "other" hip on the 22nd of Feb...so, now, who knows.....

May God hold you and your lovely lady in his strong embrace and watch over you during this difficult time. You both have lots of prayers being said for you and we won't stop until you are healthy again. Heck, we may even send a few up after that just for good measure :) . Hang in there buddy.
