It looks as awesome at night as it does in the daylight. When are you going camping?? :awesome:

I wouldn't even camp in it yet......that thing looks so cool in that night shot that I'd just cruise around town all the time.

Thanks! First trip is next weekend, with the Chesapeake Bay Tearjerker's. Can't wait!

You joke! But that's kinda what I've been doing for the past week

I figure I need to let it brave the elements and give it a little pre-trip shakedown run on some bumpy roads. I had a little concern about the tires rubbing, but so far all seems well. I did have an issue with the license plate LED's. For some reason the white LEDs' that illuminate the license plate are garbage. I've already had to replace 4 of the 6 individual LED's inside of the fixture. I don't know if its the vibrations or if the LED's were just junk, but they seem to be staying lit now. Removing LED's from a circuit board and installing new ones is pretty easy - its just frustrating that it has to be done.

Need to start packing the X-II tonight! Maiden voyage departs tomorrow after work!

As you've noticed, my galley doesn't have cabinets. Cabinets just don't work for me. I feel that they can sometimes limit what you can store, however they do keep things nice and organized. So in an attempt to keep some things in their place in the galley, I've started a sort of frame-work organizer. It will divide the galley shelf into different sections to minimize the shifting. It is "designed" around my camp stove, as that thing slid all over the place in the last teardrop if I didn't have everything packed tight.

Image

There is a little divided spot to the left of the stove that will be perfect for some spices or cookware. Behind the divider there will be enough room for cereal boxes, etc. And to the right of the stove, there is enough counter space for a cutting board and food prep. It still needs finished, but you get the idea.

Zach,
How did the first trip go? Or are you so busy making changes you don't have time to post. :R

Maiden voyage with the Chesapeake Bay Tearjerker's was a success! :D

Headed out Friday evening around 7:30, and got to camp where others had already been enjoying themselves for quite a while!

Image

As soon as I arrived, tours of the X-II began, and I was presented with a gift for the maiden voyage! One of the Tearjerker's made me a pillow with outdoors pin-up girls on it! 8)

Image

Friday night everyone had a lot of fun. I probably had a little too much fun because I had a hell of a hangover all day Saturday. :?

Image

But we did have PERFECT weather!

I went topless all day Saturday....

And then Saturday night we had a little fire.

And had some more fun. Those Chesapeake Tearjerker's are a lively bunch!

Image

In honor of St. Patricks Day,

the X-II was green....

... and the men wore Kilts. Not very nice kilts, but kilts nonetheless.

Sunday morning came and everyone packed up to head their separate ways. It was an awesome weekend and can't wait to see the Tearjerker's family again soon!

I was at that gathering and letmetellya, the X-II was BETTER in person. Amazing amount of work went into that tear and the details were perfect. Of course, the pin-up girls pillow was a very nice touch.

Oh, and that fire? Our little chapter pyros threw a 15 ft - totally dried out Xmas tree on it. You've never seen so many drunk people run for it as so not to get blistered by the heat or blinded by the flames. It was a miracle the chairs didn't spontaneously combust. Only Zach was far enough away to get a great picture of the pyre without having to run for his life. All the wood piled by the big fire pit was GONE by Sunday morning. We had to hunt for wood for a morning fire.

Again, his tear is perfection in person! :applause:

Hugs,
Ratkity

Yeah, thats in the basement of the X-II. The door to the basement is right under the mattress. There's a leather sofa, hot tub, and pool table down there. I didn't take any pictures of THAT part of the build because its a secret. :D

Thanks Patricia! I was hoping to get that metal grate painted and mounted on the tongue this week, but just haven't had any free time. Hope all that green is out of your system! :R

Zach is a wizard and that explains how he got it done so fast. Just like this tent I am sure this is where Zach got the idea of all the extras.
