A personal family loss and customers projects stacking, up meant that "Miss Piggy" was literally sent back up to the Barn for a month to rest.936559365493653
That is "Dixie" my 1951 8N escorting "Miss Piggy" up the driveway.
I did manage to get a good month in on Sandi's 1961 Studebaker Hawk which willl eventually be the TV for "Miss Piggy"

Had to go find another set of Studebaker rear doors to build the quarter windows.....wanted more side light.
So another quick trip to the USA. Thanks Allen!

More pictures.93677936769367893680
Welded in a 51 Studebaker hood to fill the hole in the front where the window used to be. And the centre of a 1954 Ford PU truck hood to fill the gap where the 46 Chev cab was widened, that rolls under the trailer to form sort of a keel joining the under floor storage area.

Now to fill the whole in the front of the roof. Didn't just want to use sheet metal (boring).
So I spotted the original hood from the 59 Simca Vedette and presto the light went on. It was the perfect width, so I removed its top skin, cut it to shape and welded it to the roof. 93681936829368393684
How cool is that??

Another area to blend (fill gap) was where the sides meet the front. Needed a funky shape, so went walk about with my 3D eyes on. And there was just the pieces I needed in the discarded 54 Ford PU hood sides. Marked out what I thought would work and plasmaed them out. Trial fit was wonderful. But once again the worked better upside down and on the opposite sides that I had originally pictured. A little trimming anf fitting and they were tacked in.
But first some more front pictures.

Building Miss Piggy

Postby Koko65 » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:06 am

Nice work Brian

It's great to see some pictures as from talking with you it was hard to imagine. You definitely have some great metal working skills. I have a hard enough time with just the metal trim work. I may be driving down to Peachland this week or next... I'll stop by if I have a chance.

Keep up the good work.
