no pedal bike needed

Bicycles for campers, rvers, or just riding around where ever you are

no pedal bike needed

Postby pete42 » Wed Oct 10, 2012 10:13 am

Do too 4 knee operations one a total knee replacement I can no longer pedal a bike
the old knees just won't bend the 90 degrees needed to pedal
I saw a bike on e-bay that had up and down pedals but it is gone
does anyone know what I'm talking about
I don't want a bike built for arm only usage like some bikes I've seen for handicapped people
but one where I could push in and out like the recumbant workout machine at the Y.

thanks pete

Are you referring to something like this?

Monkey-butt aside I can't stand for very long so I need one that allows me to sit
I'll keep looking someone makes what I would like to have.

I think I know what you were talking about, I saw one in a parade it was two levers that pivoted back at the rear axle, you simply pushed them down and they returned up on their own. the idea is an old one, the one I saw was being ridden with a group on penny farthing bikes, by a woman in a full dress and bonnet get up. I don't know who makes one like that now.
you could look into those bikes that are arm powered https://www.google.com/search?q=hand+cr ... e&ie=UTF-8
or this crazy thing
