The Great Glen course also has an area they call The Plunge. It is a downhill of log steps. We have a few people locally that do the race, so I decided to make our own Plunge to practice on.

It is of course much steeper than it looks in the photos. It is shorter than the Great Glen Plunge.. but it is a bit steeper.

this photo is still a ways from the top.

It's nice when I can drive to a bridge location. As you can see I also have a generator making things easier/ faster. The RTV is great I can load it with a variety of tools. :D

looking down to the jump.. the photo does not show it well. There is a steepish part.. it then flattens out as it crosses a trail.. then drops again.. it crosses a small brook. and then there is a sharp rise. At the top of that rise.. there is a trail that runs left to right.

While we do bike in the snow a lot... but once we get a lot of snow, most of our trails are not bikeable. So we snowshoe or ski.

The outer perimeter trails, are snowmobile trails, and they get packed nicely. Those become quite nice for biking.. and from those trails we can head out to many many trails. Trails that are not accessible in the summer.
