Newbie from Oklahoma - Intro..

Postby JenH » Tue May 29, 2012 5:21 pm

Hello ladies..
I just found this thread... YAY for Chicks!!
My name is Jennifer (Gypsy Jen), I'm 40, live in rural Oklahoma (south of Tulsa) and am a new owner of a used Little Guy Rascal. She is a beaut!! (and no she is not gender confused) I have been married for 15 years, have a 12 year old daughter and I am a nail tech by trade. (retired now), Certified Yoga Instructor (who's never taught), Travel Agent by heart and love to craft and quilt and cook. Was a Girl Scout leader for 8 years and enjoyed it very much. We are dog people, we have 2 dogs a Shichon & a Boxer.
I will primarily be traveling with my daughter. We are planing to embarking on our Summer 2012 Adventure in mid July.. but first plan to take a few smaller trips.. first one to the Illinois River in Tahlequah, Okla next week. I am thrilled to see this Lady Teardroppers thread and look forward to meeting you at a gathering soon (Ok.. when it cools off)
Jen
Happy Travels,

Welcome Jen and Daughter! You are not too far. I camp with my granddaughters. So much fun to be with young people. I was hoping to get out this week too but the younger granddaughter is ill today. :worship:

Hiyya noob, from another one! Welcome! We just got our TD too, taking it out for a first spin this weekend! Maybe we'll get a chance to meet up during a KAMO outing. We're in the St. Louis area, if you're ever this way, give a shout! If you're doing your travels with your granddaughter, you'll have to bring her up here to our zoo. It's free to get in! Cool place, if you're this way.

So, are you new to camping, or just to teardrops?

Sorry for the delay, I just saw this post.
I am new to teardropping not to camping. I was a Girl Scout leader for 8 years so we did a bit of primitive camping during those years.
I look forward to seeing you at a gathering. We will be attending the Lloyd Park Gathering in Tx. This will be our first TD gathering.
Happy Travels,
JenH

Hi Jen and Marianne! Welcome to both of you! You will love this forum and the great people on it. When you get a minute, be sure and add your birthday to your profile so we can wish you a happy birthday.

Happy camping! :)

Hi Betty,
Good to see more Red Dirt Girls on here!
What kind of teardrop do you have and are you close to Tulsa?
Hope to see you at some gatherings this year.

I'm about 70ish (?) miles east-southeast of tulsa. I don't have a teardrop and I'm not even ready to start yet. I'm just looking for ideas at this point, and sharing some ideas with my husband.

Hi and welcome I am a newbie but I am posting and learning , I have completed reading the forum and WOW :? It was an experience. I am not rich and live on a very small income. I am 63 (birthday on last Saturday) and I have decided to build a foamie. If Cathrine and Louella can do it then so can I. I have some building skills. I am building a foamie because of the weight. I plan to pull it behind my little car. I too, love this forum. Good luck and hoping yall will post and let us know what your building!!!
