One more question, what thickness plywood did you use for the sides? I have been considering using 1/8" luan inside and out, but wondering if it will be sturdy enough.

I used 1/4" inside and out. But a lot of people use 1/8". If I was to build another it would probably be 1/8".

I have to 2nd Clint, my 2+2 high is 1/4" outside, 1/8" inside. Next one will be 1/8" at the most in and outside. I have no tout that it would be strong enough and the weight savings do add up. I know now that I way overbuilt mine.

Thanks for the advise.. My other thought was to just use 3/4" acx like the Generic Benroy design for ease of build, but it seems like it would be pretty heavy. Wife wants to be camping this summer so she's pushing for whatever is quickest!

Just to add a little more about the outside. I finished mine like the instructions that came with the Rust o leum marine paint. Not saying their system is wrong but I am not happy with the way mine turned out. I will redo mine and if I build another it will be a epoxy?cps finish on the entire outside shell. Then the roof WILL be aluminum. The ABS plastic moves to much with the heat and cold. Then what ever kind of paint color on the outside. Just my 2 cents......

Finally sat down and tidied up all the electrical. I do not have a battery yet but all the lighting is 12v just incase it is needed. Just a ac to dc converter rated at 20amps with a 30amp 6 circuit fuse block. Then to the terminal strip. The black box on the left is a led dimmer that is also remote controlled for the under trailer led lights.

The kids got to help finish up the painting. (I think the daughter can hold a cleaner line than I can) ;-)

Also been working on the galley this past week. After a year of camping we decided how we wanted it. Built a false wall in front of the rear bulkhead to hide the electrical and insulate. Plenty of plugs and a spot for the light switches. Used urethane on everything to seal it up and the wife took some scrap booking paper and decorated the countertop. We have some white led lighting figured out as soon as everything dries.

Everyone is right about they are never finished.

Beautiful Clint!

What a tidy and neat wiring job. Makes mine look like spaghetti.

Hope to see y'all in September.

Take care,
Tom
