You can see my home-made clamping jig in the picture. It's a spar with two blocks screwed to it. One side sits inside the wall, the other hooks on the exterior of the opposite wall. I apply the clamp to the interior block against an exterior wall, and voila, I can clamp to walls towards each other with only a 12" clamp!
