once the brackets were cured, I used scraps of 1" foam to make the inner ledges the window rests against when open. Since each bracket is not very strong to side loads, I tie the two brackets together with the waste strips left from cutting the window brackets out. One strip along the top, and the wider along the front. Inside of them is another strip of foam trimmed to match the angle. Fully glued inside this is a very strong bracket.
By tying the two protruding edges together I don't get knifed in the back by my own doors.
