The trailer in its flat bed form, 2" X 4" pockets were welded all the way around flush with the bottom of the decking so that I could build drop in wood sides if I want. This was part of the original plan to have a camper body that slides onto a flatbed trailer like a truck camper. Plans have since changed and the camper body will be permanently mounted to the trailer to save the weight of an extra floor structure.
