Low-BTU Heat Options for a Small Foamie Camper

I am building a small (5x8x4) foamie with 2" XPS foam with an R-10 rating. Based on some calculations I would need about 1k BTU to maintain a 50 deg F differential temp. Most small heaters (diesel/propane) are in the 5k-6.5k range. Something like this will put out so much heat so fast it will...

Adding a Front Window to a Foamie Teardrop

I'm building a foamie teardrop and would really like to add a fixed window to the front "wall" to let in more light. I'm thinking a 12" x 32(ish)" window (seems to be a somewhat standard size for cargo trailer applications) would work without interfering too much with the curve of the front. 1...

Critique Needed: Foamie Camper Design for 2 Adults and a Dog

Hi! Starting on my first camper journey, want to do a foamie! I've got a unique idea that I'd like to get some input on. The main design parameter is that it should comfortably fit 2 people and a dog. I found a few posts about people building a 5x10 camper on a 4x8 by going a foot out on the...

Experimental Foamie Build With Rear Hatch

A few pics of my experimental foamie build. It's made from a Foamular shell, all 2" thick except for the side walls which are 1-1/2". Covered inside and outside with PMF, glued with Tite-bond 2 and 5+ coats of paint. Roof is reinforced with a pine "I" beam for strength, holds my 170 lbs when...

Connecting City Water to a Foamie Freshwater System

Apologies if as I imagine this is a FAQ, but I tried searching city water and shore water and mostly got for sale posts. I am building a foamie and am thinking mostly about boondocking but occasionally will be camping at camp sites that may have water. How do you make the connection into an...

    First Foamie Bugout Design

Start with a harbor freight trailer and build a 5‘ x 8‘ platform which was larger than the 4‘ x 8‘ trailer that extra foot makes it better for two people to sleep. I use 2 inch pink foam from Menards. There’s two types there’s a type that has a scribe cut line-don’t use that or there’s a type...

    Hi-lo foamies

This might become my dumping ground for my build. Anybody build their foamie with Insulfoam? I'm planning to build a hi-lo foamie similar to the build below. Could Insulfoam R-7.7 2" thickness work for the bottom walls? Or would Owen Cornings Foamular NGX F-250 R-10 2" thickness be better?

    Foamie Vs Stick Philosophy

Hello. I have been lurking for a while, looks like all roads (links) eventually lead back to tnttt, which is great as far as a 'good' focused community. I have been wanting to make a tiny camper for many years and finally mustered the time/effort/$$. It seems that the majority of builds use a...

Foamie Teardrop and Squaredrop builds, part 1

Hello (for my first post)! I've just made a video showing part 1 of my foamie trailer build, and my friend making his at the same time. I read through countless threads on this forum about foam builds as I was prepping for and working on mine. An awesome community of builders here. I built...
