Hello everyone this is a $150 camper I designed for camping and also would benefit homeless people. I also included a template if you want to build a scale version. Plans will be available in a week for those who would like to build it. Also looking into setting up a nonprofit organization to mass produce the campers for free to homeless people.

Kudos to you for bringing up the matter of homeless housing. It isn't mentioned much here, but in fact this forum deals with the same basic topic: inexpensive foundation-less human shelter. Collectively, TNTT represents a vast pool of experience and expertise, which if you can tap into it will benefit your project in design and construction both. Hopefully, other members will chip in with their ideas on your plan.

Thank you my design is simple but efficient and will give them a roof and shelter them from the weather. Is inexpensive easy to build and maintain.am open to any ideas or suggestions. If I get the support could setup shop and we could produce from 5 to 10 units a day to start. first America then global that's the concept.plan to setup a go fund me page to build 3 prototypes also will be contacting companies like home Depot and harbor freight for tools and equipment to see if they can sponsored the project. Let's get America back on their feet.Ceo and Designer of Mannys AI Design Studios.

Wow, nobody thought to give homeless people a pup tent before, you solved a problem vexing governments worldwide! With the power of AI, anything is possible!

Thank you is the idea to help people gain their confidence back. It can happen to anyone. Is a lot of work but worthy see a stranger smile and feel he or she is not alone there still people who care and want to see everyone succeed. And again first America then take the concept global.

I'm very sympathetic with your project here, but I have to say that I don't think it is ready for prime time. Here’s some suggestions of what you might want to do before taking it to the national level.

First, separate your camper thinking from your homeless housing thinking. Homeless housing is most needed for people who live in the concrete jungles of Miami or Seattle or LA, for example. They typically need to stay close-in, to benefit from social services, day-labor opportunities, and the kindness of strangers. They are not likely to be biking out into the backwoods.

Second, get in touch with local groups who work with the homeless population in Miami-Dade. Check out Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust or call the Homeless Hotline 877-994-4357 These folks could probably tell you what similar projects have been tried, what on-going projects there are, etc. and put you in touch with like-minded builders.

Third, refine your design. The challenge, as laid down (somewhat backhandedly, perhaps;)) by Iamroot, is: come up with a hard-sided design that is plainly superior to a pup tent, while at the same time being reasonably inexpensive. If your target price is 150 bucks – i.e. 6 times the price of a pup tent, it's going to have to have some big advantages to make it interesting.

(It should be pointed out, though, that your A-frame concept is already superior to a pup tent in certain non-trivial respects:
It has a floor, providing its own flat surface for sleeping.
It is insulated from the ground, which might be rough, cold, or wet.
It does not require being pegged down, which is a significant factor if your homesite is a slab of concrete.
It is self-supporting and does not require a large footprint – e.g., no guy wires or posts for lines.)

Good luck !
