Is this the version that is assembled with machine screws, or is it assembled with aircraft type rivets.
 
Our '46 Modernistic is riveted but has the "swoopy" style fenders (similar to '34 Ford rear fenders). I was under the impression that the Cub model that was sold unassembled had the steel fenders as you have. Apparently some changes during the few years that these trailers were made. Our door window is slightly different.
 
While I don't know a ton about this or other Modernistics, I do know the top skin was replaced, so I wouldn't be surprised if the fenders were swapped out at some time either.
