2020 Spring Gathering - Clifty Falls State Park

WE LIKE THE IDEA....

Laura says “ Sieze-your salad” for a salad based dinner...overnite salad, ham salad, egg salad, macaroni salad, etc.
I’m “ chicken out your entree “ chicken based dish
Let’s be frank...hotdog based entrees
We have Spam-or-Rama Spam based entrees

Laura, I had a feeling that you would like this.

Should we as a group vote on an appropriate Theme for Clifty Falls?

Hi. Pardon me, just lurking... I don't think I would be able to make it down there in May. Sounds like a good time though, maybe next year...?
:)

I'm fascinated by the potluck "theme" idea. How about... "Are you game?"

Would it be okay if Kentuckiana Teardrops and Minicampers joins in on the Pitch-in on Saturday Night?

Grizz, that's never a problem. We always have plenty of food.

Are they camping at Clifty Falls also, or just visiting?

Kurt, They will be camping. There are some that are a part of this group already. Feel free to join our group on Facebook and post any information you would like. I don't want to overstep.

Beginning in early April, S.R. 256 from Austin to Hardy Lake Road will be closed for a road widening project. This project will continue through the summer. From I-65, guests should take the Scottsburg exit (S.R.56), and head east toward Madison. Take S.R. 56 east all the way into Madison to access the park. An alternative route is to take S.R. 56 to S.R. 203 north to reach S.R. 256, then head east to Clifty Falls State Park

As of today state parks are still open and they are canceling fees for transfers or cancellations, and park entrance fees, up to April 30... but may extend this ruling as conditions change!

News update from Todd, Nancy, Coop and Zach:

An official announcement will be made public shortly, but the difficult decision has been made to ask Chapter Directors to cancel all Gatherings through April 30. Based on the constantly evolving information presented by the President, the CDC, the WHO, and various Governors, things are continuing to become more and more serious. Although not all states have directives to limit groups to smaller than 10, many have already gone beyond this and have asked people to not leave their homes.

Taking all this into account, and not knowing when it will end, it would not be responsible for the TearJerkers as an organization to encourage the gathering of people at this time.

If you have a Gathering to cancel, please update the announcement as described here: https://forum.tearjerkers.net/forum/...lled-gathering

Thank you for you understanding and cooperation.

- Todd, Nancy, Coop, Zach

If things calm down before our Gathering in May, we might be OK.

Indiana campgrounds are closed until April 20. The governor has just announced it.
It could open up for our may gathering so we'll have to wait and see.

As you might already know, the State Campgrounds will be closed during our scheduled gathering in MAY 2020.
You should be getting a call from IN-DNR to let you know that your camping fees will be "automatically" refunded to you..

So sorry that our gathering didn't fall at a different time but we must be patient.  I want to get out camping as much as you all do but it's just not in the cards right now.
  Stay safe.
