Hello Sleuths,
I am hoping you can help me out...
While I wait for my main project to be finished, I am persevering with my existing set up...
Some time back between 1960 and 1970 my grandfather built a small trailer for hauling roofing shingles.
It has a 36" long (hub to hub) axel with 25mm spindles. (0.985in)

I am less than a month away from a 2000+ mile road trip with this trailer, and thought it would be best to check the bearings...
I now better understand "ignorance is Bliss..." The Oil seals are destroyed...

So...
My question...
36" axel
27.5" spring spacing
4 on 4 hubs
National 471787 Oil Seals (These are what was on there... but they list an ID of 1.25"... which is NOT 25mm? What's the story with that?)
HR 30205J Bearings
Races (unknown)

Any Idea where I can get spares OF Any of these parts?
The Axel seems to be a mystery... unless i am missing something, it doesn't seem to match any "standard" axels on the market today.
National doesn't seem to make these oil seals anymore...
Yes... i have googled it... i can find ONE on Amazon...

Would a new HUB and BEARING kit from somewhere like etrailer with 1" ID on the bearings be suitable? Or is that just a bad idea?

Have you physically measured the seal surface on that spindle?
How about a picture of the old seal from the inside to show the
wear damage?

When googled the bearing shows up as a common one.

Did some more work in the garage last night... and made "some" progress...
I think I found replacement bearings and oil seals... and cleared up the confusion on the size of the oil seal... it is defo the correct one.

I measured the wrong part of the shaft at first, when I measure where the oil seal actually sits, i get 1.25", which matches the spec of the National Part Number 471787.

Steve, I actually did stumble across these while I was googling late last night... I seem to recall they were on a Go-Kart/Motorcycle site?
Anyway... I think I have found a solution... will know more tomorrow when all the parts I ordered arrive and I can confirm fit!

Alternatively, incase someone else happens to stumble on this post in the future:
I did find a local bearing supply house that had SAG versions of the bearings and a seal (forgot to ask vendor) available in 3-4 days.
Bearings were $10 more than the ones I found on Amazon.

Seal was also $3 more than the ones I found at O'Reilly Auto. https://www.oreillyauto.com/search?q=471787

I'll keep you posted.

Quick update on this SIDE project!
Bearings order from AMAZON worked!
Managed to rebuild the hubs, repack the bearings, and get the trailer put back together! Less than a month till our 2500mi road trip!

This is an older pictures, but this is our rig as it stands! I think this counts as a "Tiny" trailer! :D
