Looks real good, but I really have to brag big time on my $200 Nuway (outdoor vented) propane heater/stove.

Nuway makes a small wood heater/stove too for around $150, but I prefer the propane. It's so simple and well made that I expect to use it for 30-years, if I can last that long.

Ordered this (clamp on pipe) eco fan last night. It showed up this morning. [emoji50]
Also grabbed a CO detector.
Tested it out . Fan worked . I may try different spots. COdetector I put on the wall by the sink.
Alarm didn't turn on so that's good. [emoji106]

I moved the eco fan down below the elbow. It worked even better moving the warm air forward.
Tested out different woods also.
Grabbed some Douglas fur and Oak from Lowes.
Douglas fur 3/4 x 1.5 was $1.88 for 6ft. Cheap. Popped and cracked alot .
Oak was $8.10 for 4ft. Spendy . Quiet burn and hotter.
Each piece was cut to 5" lengths.
Oak-- 10 pieces
D.F.-- 2 lengths = 38 pieces

Once the fire died down to coals. I put a 1/2 cup of pellets in.
This won hands down in terms of temps and burn time.

I think I have this tuned to the point of another camp out soon.

Last night I tested out some cherry tree I had cut up this spring. Really liked it, no popping/cracking and burned well.
Once that went out before bedtime I filled the cup full of pellets. This turned out to be too much.
Had a bit of an "overfire" going for about 1/2hr . Pipe started glowing at mid height. I closed the stove damper but just had to let it run its course.
Temp inside reached 85° and was sweating. The fireproofing I did in the door held up great. CO alarm didn't bark at me, so that's good. I did vent the window a bit more when it got really hot.
Now I know how much pellets is too much. Maybe half a cup or 3/4 if it's really cold.
This morning woke up to 40° and didn't want to get out of the warm sleeping bag.

Had to scroll back to refresh my memory of which stove you have. Noticed that in one photo of
your burnables, looked like there was some plywood on the left. I don't think that plywood or
chipboard would be healthy for your stove what with the glues used.

I'll also add that over heating the stove occasionally is a way to reduce the creosote build-up.
That's what those Chimney cleaning 'logs' do.

Yeah I burned a few small pieces just getting the fire started. Won't use those again, didn't produce a smell inside but outside you could smell it.

I have plenty of pellets and cherry wood, Douglas fur to burn for the winter.

Hoping to get out in the next few weeks and try out ice fishing.
Need some more snow though.

Tonight went back to Yuba reservoir to see how the ice was . Fishing was a bust, ran out of daylight .
Just sitting in the trailer eating some subway I grabbed on the way out.

Since I have hookups im using the electric heater just to warm up the trailer. I'll be firing [emoji91]up the wood stove in a few.

That's like sleeping outside down here... I keep my trailer at 70-degrees when camping.

In the sleeping bag I was warm.
No worries. I dont have any plumbing to freeze up.
Did some mild off-roading this morning and saw one guy out there ice fishing before packing up.

Already planning another trip but some place a bit different and new to us. It doesn't have any power so I'll be solely relying on the wood stove.

So after 20+ fire's in the wood stove, this is what the inside of the pipes looked like. Not bad just a thin coating.
Grabbed a dryer vent brush and hooked up the cordless drill.
Good as new.

Found a tougher new cap (left). The old one was weak and bent easily .

Also refilled the wood bucket with pellets and mostly cherry wood.
Ready for the next campout.

Very nice sunset. I am getting my first taste of cold weather camping. Not so bad as long as you have good heat source and camper built to withstand it. I'd have to make some more adjustments to my CTC if I did this alot.... but doable and enjoyable!

We lucked out with the weather. Had no storms for 2 weeks and the temps weren't bad either 30's nights 60's days.
I've lived here all my life but never had visited Antelope island till now.
What a great place.
Bug season starts in April , had no bug's at all during this time of winter.
They just put in another loop in the campground with hookups.
Didn't know that till arrival.
We definitely will be back here in the future.

Flboy ::; Keep on winter camping, it gets better each time.
Had our wood stove going till about 10:30 last night. 70° inside when it died out. Wife was pleased with it. [emoji6]
