6 X 10 (V-nose) build

Part 2 of Scofield. Had such a good time, we came back 2 weeks later.

Well, it's winter camping season officially. It went from the 70's straight to the 30's . Waiting for the 50's before another campout. Would like to do some hiking. Trying not to get sick .

Probably going to be installing a "super simple electric" shore power in the trailer soon. Only need maybe 2 plugs. One at the rear and one near the front .

Well yesterday I decided to go winter camping. Was windy in the city but calm when I arrived here.
That is till about 3am, the wind has been ferocious rocking the trailer around [emoji948]. I hooked up to the truck to help stabilize things.
The window's are whistling it's so intense. So far the exhaust pipe is holding up outside for the wood stove.
About 50yrds away is a Buffalo sleeping on the ground. Just a normal night for him.
Gonna try some sleep before breakfast.

Was gonna do a short hike but that wind. While walking past the trailer it blew so hard, pushed me into the trailer. Packed up and went home.
On the way out, some film crews were shooting a commercial. Tons of RV's and vehicles. I wonder if they got any filming done.

Yes, not much point in sticking around if you cannot even get outside. [emoji20]

Today I actually did something to the trailer. [emoji6]
Using the "super simple electric" sticky in the electrical secrets section.
I did this, Using the Marineco RV shore power inlet and a 8ft power strip with circuit breaker.

Good thing I documented pics what was behind the walls .
I drilled a 1 - 7/8" hole in the trailer, clipped off the end plug and wired up the 3 wires and wala, shore power. [emoji298]️

Modstock, Howdy;

As I need to have a "connection" for a oxygen concentrator installed
one of those right after I purchased mine. Used a piece of 3/8" ply
to reinforce the skin where the hole is. I see that you have your
insulation doing that for you.

You'll really enjoy the ability to "plug in" when able.

Modstock.. good upgrade..
Is that a 15 amp hook up? If so, just a heads up..
At one camp ground they didn't have 15 amp on their boxes.. so to use our little conversion van,
I had to jerry rig a connection for a couple days.. not OSHA approved for sure..
After that I bought two dog bone adaptors, 50 amp to a 30 amp. and a 30 amp to a 15 amp..
On the tackle Box (Trailer Conversion) I just decided to use a 30 amp shore power connector..
Will still carry the other adaptors just in case..
(Just something to think about for your journeys)

Thanks guys.
It is 15amp, Good tip. I do have a 30amp adapter from a previous campout.

Buttoned things up this morning. Routed the cord and will mount it on the back side of this cabinet.
If we ever had to move it around, we could easily.
I was trying to keep it far from the sink/water storage.

Hey! Seen your Jeep in town and went nuts about the wheel/hubcap combo because I considered the same thing for my Jeep GC! It convinced me to do that this next Spring, so don't get mad if you see it. haha. I actually have the same size Look trailer, but with the ramp. I have it mostly fitted out but haven't touched the outside yet. Might keep it as plain and scuffed as it is to keep a bit of the stealth factor. If you have a bit of time I wouldn't mind seeing your progress some time. I'm in Murray.

Awesome, good to see another cargo convert'er and jeeper in town. [emoji41]

I was gifted another electric heater. We received almost 10" of snow the last 2 days. So what a great time to test it out and also the super simple shore power.
11:22am. I plugged it in and set the timer for 2 hrs.
I'll go check it again in a hour.
Inside temp 30° and high humidity.

After an hour it was 70° inside. It worked just as well as the other heater but quieter and doesn't kick on/off like the other.

As for the simple electrical.....
Everything did great. No wires got hot, not even warm throughout the whole system. A good sign everything's working fine.

Hoping for a campout in the next few weeks.

That's good news on that little heater and the simple shore power :applause:

Great how some of the simplest things work sometimes...

I came home a few weeks ago to find this waiting at the top of the stairs.
Introducing Sugar.
She's a 5 month old St. Bernard/poodle mix .
Tonight she's getting trained for camping, so we'll be in the backyard.

Here's last weekends adventure.
Camping in a snowstorm and only relying on the wood stove.

Wow... very nice. St. Bernard's are huge. I am guessing Sugar's poodle half is a Standard Poodle. Can't wait to see some camping pics. Dogs are great! [emoji106] [emoji106]

I brought my CTC around front to start packing for a camping trip next week and my German Shepherd Dog Lexus saw that and will not let me out of her sight. She knows it is coming and loves to go camping with me. Lexus will be 3 years old soon and has not missed a trip yet. To make sure that is the case, she has parked herself by the front door. :)

BTW.... that camping in the snow looked crazy cold! A bit dicey gettingn out the next morning also. Is your truck 4wd?

Yeah it's 4wd. Next time I'll put my shorter drop hitch on to prevent the snow from building up in front of the trailer. [emoji6]
Stayed warm all night though.
