6 X 10 (V-nose) build

Made a strap to keep it from swinging during travel and some soft velcro where metal to metal contact is.
Snaps on/off.

I had that other plastic 4" boat port lying around and decided the man door could use it and help the airflow inside.
Ordered a screen for it also. They come in packs of 4 now, same price.

While I was at it, I've been wanting to make some sort of fold up shelf that I could put my camera on for those long timelapse's and keep it out of the weather.

Also did the rear (exhaust port)/ vent for the wood stove. Just had to bend up some diamond plate. It slids in between the heat shield and door.

I like the portal. Great idea to capture the time lapse. I installed one in my rear door last year. The one I have is for a Van, so I had to make some stand off rings to match the thickness. In any case, I like the extra light and view when I am at the desk on the laptop or Radio.

Nice view. [emoji106]
These ports are a great way to get a breeze in from the rear/side when I can't move the trailer.
Today I was supposed to chase the "BigBoy" locomotive but I missed it .
So I decided to get that shower room going for Bonneville.
I survived 3 day's volunteering for a team on the salt. Wished I had a shower.
Pics.

Having my own industrial sewing machine helps.

Made a bar using coat hanger and 1/2" conduit.

Right now it's clamped under the gutter. Soon snaps will be installed.

Outside view.
There's a bar sewn into the end for weight.
I flipped it for the silver out, a bit cooler.

The bar sewn in was just enough conduit leftover.
Slid one into the other and smashed it a bit to prevent coming apart, duct taped. Nobody gonna see it.

Grommets installed on other side.
Bungee's help pull it down.
Maybe $20 into it. Already had the tarp.
Harbor freight grommet kit works well.

Today I installed the snaps on the gutter and tarp. Also sewed the upper bar in, so I can roll up the wall and use it as a awning. Plus makes it easier to tear down if the wind kicked up. Last thing ya want is a tarp to go flying across the desert .

While I was in a mood to sew things up. I had this giant garbage tarp. More like netting. I cut it in 2 to have one for an actual garbage tarp and the other to make a great shade with and the wind blows right through. They come in different colors but brown is what I had laying around.
Connected it with HF tarp clamps and ball stretch cords.
I recommend the tarp clamps but not the ball cords. Kinda weak, had to double em up.

The last time out I was able to test the shower room. The room itself was great but the shower needs to be mounted higher. I have the 5gall. Which is alot and hangs low. Might have to set it on the roof, has a long hose.
We could be just fine with the 2gall.

Also tested out the mister. This was awesome on a stale air night.
Since the truck doesn't have AC. I filled it with cold cooler water and used it for the drive home.

Thanks. I've been trying to keep it low budget but off grid friendly.
I was impressed with it on the salt. It stays cooler inside most of the day depending on wind.
Winter is coming, getting exited. [emoji4]

Had to get some pictures made and wanted some of my photography on the wall. So I had these printed on aluminum.
I mounted em like normal but added velcro to the backside. Sticks like crazy to my carpeted walls.
2nd pic is Mesa Arch
3rd is the desert valley near Dugway in fog.

Also found a ikea locker for a decent price and mounted under the cabinet.
Fixed the tongue jack that collapsed on my last trip. Decided on a sidewinder. Much easier than a top-wind . I may modify it to put the handle on the backside.

Was able to finally use the shower room while at Bonneville.
https://youtu.be/Vj1vHuWgwME?si=J4jCpkAanL8U8gH5

While it did the job, there's a few improvements it could use.

1st.) ---- It needs to go up higher. I accidentally bought the 5 gallon.
Hangs down lower. 2 gallons is plenty for me.

2nd.) --- needs a sprayer handle instead of the petcock at the base.

3rd.) --- maybe a different hose, it kinks easily.

I'll be checking out youtu.be for mods.

Well I decided to ditch the gravity shower and ordered this. Has good reviews and spray pattern.

Been thinking about mods. I would like to add another 3/4" red light at the rear side of the trailer for turn signals . Something blinking on the side would help.

On the pump sprayer, I saw a couple years back a few were using them for showers and said they worked great..
I like the tarp setup you have on the back between the doors.. looks great..

Thanks glad you like it.
It's definitely going to be useful, either showering or cooling off myself or someone else.
Last year was **** on the salt being stuck near the starting line trying to get the streamliner back on the trailer for hours with no shade.
This season my trailer is not leaving my side.

Saw one of these for cheap. I decided to buy one and see if it'll cool the trailer better. Right now we hit another cold spell and its winter again.

Our other cooler seems takes up too much space and feels too wet inside.
I can open the door to combat this but sometimes your trying to keep bug's out.

Another lil hack I've done recently is using a bungee cord on the mounts for the awning/shower room.
Preventing the door blowing around.

Tapatalk isn't working anymore. I'll try this.
I recently changed the porta potty lid. I didn't like how I set up the lid and couldn't get it to open all the way.
Finally changed the hinges and it opens sideways now and much more room and comfortable to sit on.

Also grabbed a Napa 8ft awning and mounted it directly to the trailer. So it would be close and low as possible to still fit in the garage.
Using 1-1/2" #12 self drilling screws to mount it.
1st had to remove the inside upper trim to make sure I didn't hit any wires or whatnot.
Used butyl tape to help hold and seal things.
My ez-up is showing it's age and these go for about $115 these days, I figured why not.
I did have to bend down the door rain gutter and add some black door gaurds to cover the sharp edge.

Well that was short lived.
While at speedweek. I unrolled the awning for shade and show my friend. Just sat down and turned on the CB .Then heard " Attention everyone in the pits, there's a microburst heading your way"
I alerted the team and started to take down the awning about the time it hit.
2 lower legs and a upper arm are bent and mangled.
I may be able to order another and use the legs.

On the plus side, the pump shower worked great.
