6 X 10 (V-nose) build

I saw some Yutube videos of that wind storm at Bonneville and it was no joke. He!! of a blow. Did a lot of damage.

Yes it did. I was able to find parts.
This Napa awning is the same version as the ARB.
Summit racing has these ARB replacement upper arm and lower leg assemblies in stock.

Another hot summer is in the books. What was the best mod I did ?
I'd have to say that pump sprayer shower 🚿.
What a relief to hose off after 10hrs in the heat. One thing I noticed is the water was cold. If I kept it sitting in the sun for a hour or two before the sun went down, I got a few sprays of warm water.
So, I left it sitting on the front seat all day while parked in the pits.
Much better, had a whole bottle of warmer water to shower.

The race team owner had a shower stall built in his box truck but no plumbing in yet. I loaned him this and a few other team members used it a few nights.
They loved it.

Modstock, Howdy;

On my CT I have a cargo door latch on the front man door. It lays across the middle
of the Man door latch. Why ???? Well it keeps folks from opening the Man Door and
getting in when I don't want them to. Now when I wish to only use the door for access
say, at a campground I would secure the cargo latch out of the way and so that someone
couldn't lock me in by being a "Nice Guy" and locking the latch while I'm inside, perhaps
napping.
Some folks have used and additional securing mechanism some drill a hole and use an eye-bolt
and both use a padlock to keep it there.

Something to consider, toss it around see which side shows up on top the most ...

hank
i leave the swing arm on the lock alone and place a lock on the small swinging latch that
locks the arm. even if someone tries to lock you in, just pushing on the door will open it.
of course they may just park a vehicle against the door, in that case you're toast.

Have a trip planned for the day after Xmas. It's the Winterfest at Golden spike museum. Where you can see the steam trains run in the sub freezing temps for maximum steamage clouds.
That Friday I'll be making the long drive up and staying at the Loves RV stop one exit away. The next morning I'll hit the road for another 1/2hr to see the train event. After that since im up that way we'll be hitting the dirt road to Spiral Jetty and camp the night on the remote northern edge of the Great salt lake.
1st night will be electric heat then switch over to the wood stove at the beach. 🔥🍻

A few weeks ago I ordered the foot pump for the sink. I wanted to work on something last Sunday but needed to be warm, so I fired up the heater and started getting ready to plumb the sink.
It turned into storage and it's bugging me.

All hoses were ran tonight with an option to drain underneath or in a tank.

We usually have a jug sitting on the fender for our hand wash station.
It'll be nice to do inside, especially in winter storms. 😉
I'm waiting on the faucet and it'll be complete. Right now I ran extra hose to the sink.

Pic's of sink plumbing.
I had another one of those "toolbox fold down shelves" and added it to the man door to watch movies, ect.
Drilled a bunch of "lightening holes" to the under supports but it only lost a 1/2lb.
Wished they made em in aluminum.
Oh well .
The center beam lines right up with the countertop height. Perfect.

Now I won't drop the phone on my face when I nod off. 😉

I ordered a cold water faucet and it turned out to be a bust. Said stainless when it was plastic chrome and wasn't long enough for the thick countertop.
Also the reinforced clear tubing is really stiff, hard to work with in the cold temps.
Sent the faucet back and wasted $40 on tubing.
Oh well lesson learned. I'll be starting over on this.

I picked up some new clear tubing. It's much better and now I can slide the footpump into it's hole to get it out of the way when not in use. 😊

One thing I found out while pumping is, it needs to be choked down from the 1/2" to get a longer squirt 💦. Experimenting I used this petcock.
So far, no leaks from the drain side.

After returning and getting a different faucet. I'm Fed up.
#2 won't work cause the threads don't work with the barb fitting. It's a brass 1/2" npt and only threads on a half a turn.
Faucet has those G1/2" British threads. 🤨
I have one trick left up my sleeve. Using a plastic barb adapter I may get it to work .

I had to get a bit creative and used a pex hose connector. It's a success but... in a way kinda disappointing. No leaks though.
Maybe I'll revamp it in the future. For now it's done.

I decided to cancel my trip to Golden spike. We have some high winds here and I don't feel like going through the construction zone near Ogden in these winds. Plus people are driving like total idiots, way more than usual.

Went up to the point of the mountain for a quick trip.
Not sure if I parked too close to the berm but the high winds reeked havoc on the wood stove.
Every once in awhile the wind changed direction and almost snuffed out the fire which resulted in a puff of smoke entering inside.
Never had this problem before. On the way out I left the windows open till I got to the bottom to vent out the smoke smell.
A few days later with the window cracked, the smell is pretty bad.
All windows open now and a fan going inside.

I decided to order a new "high winds cap" for the exhaust. Once I get that I'll camp somewhere new for testing.
Kinda wondering if the sink faucet had something to do with it. I turned faucet handle to off position and covered the drain. ???

Today I decided if im gonna use that sink.
I better make it easy to setup/use.
Getting the tanks in was a chore.
Took the doors off and removed that middle piece.

Tanks fit just fine turned around.

Made a new door and moved the hinges.

Door all painted up and attached .

Saw there was some room to do something with. No wasted space.
Made up a little shelf that sits on the tanks and I'll screw a Tupperware down to it to hold misc items.

I reversed the spout and used a bigger piece of hose to seal it and keep water from spilling out during travel.

Also I hated the sink cover I made.

New cutting board fit well. Doesn't slide.
I'll probably attach some magnets in the handle to keep it from moving during travel.

Can't wait to use this and actually do some cooking in here.

If I dare to say this. The trailer is officially DONE.
I'm sure I'll find something to improve but everything inside works. 😁
