Well my hunt for a axle has went far and wide.
Going to a 5k requires switching to 6 lug. It's also a bigger axle tube, loss of suspension travel. So unless I want to lift my trailer, im pretty much stuck with what I have (3500lb).
Also looked into getting a thicker axle tube but,,,,, axles tend to bend at the spindle on a dropped axle. Mine has a 4" drop.
If it was a straight axle, going thicker would help.
Also one important note. They need to weld the saddles on. So I would have to take the trailer to someone to weld em on under the trailer. Having them do this without bolting on and making sure it's centered. They would need a jig to line it up with no caster.
Kinda frustrating.
