Well my hunt for a axle has went far and wide.
Going to a 5k requires switching to 6 lug. It's also a bigger axle tube, loss of suspension travel. So unless I want to lift my trailer, im pretty much stuck with what I have (3500lb).
Also looked into getting a thicker axle tube but,,,,, axles tend to bend at the spindle on a dropped axle. Mine has a 4" drop.
If it was a straight axle, going thicker would help.

Also one important note. They need to weld the saddles on. So I would have to take the trailer to someone to weld em on under the trailer. Having them do this without bolting on and making sure it's centered. They would need a jig to line it up with no caster.
Kinda frustrating.

Axle is out.
Giving TPW (trailer parts wholesale) a call in the morning . Hopefully picking it up this week.
Now it is a 85" hub base measurement. Most axles you buy prebuilt are only even 84 or 86.
This is why im getting it built.

Tire wear didn't look as bad as I thought but im still getting these flipped.
Left is inside. You can see the wear after 1 trip.

While everything is apart. I noticed the bushings were worn out. Can't believe they put plastic bushings in. My neighbor bent me up some ubolt's, got me new bushings as well as some new bolts.
Axle is ordered through TPW (trailer parts wholesale) should be picking it up in a few days.

Picked up the new axle in Santaquin Friday.
Had the tires flipped to blackwalls.
Used 2 creeper's and rolled it right under.
Finished the install last night. Just need to wire up the brakes and take it for a test drive, adjust the brakes.

Next is fixing the shelf that broke.
Im thinking of using one those mini toolboxes for the spoons, forks,ect.
