Got the slats and etc. on. The bed lift works great and looks good for DIY.

With the mattress on, the bed pulls up tight to the ceiling which will stop any swinging on the straps when traveling. I will also be putting some pins in each corner that will go into the wall and allow me to take tension and strain of the belt system when traveling. I just don't want there to be any chance of the bed accidentally dropping onto my Harley. That would be a bad day.

Thanks Bruce. This basic design has been out there for a while. I just had to figure out the dimensions for my situation and make the decisions on materiel to use. Alot of folks use extruded aluminum to make the frame, but that was more than I cared to spend on just the frame, so I decided to go with the plywood and given the extra weight, I bought a stronger motor. I am also adding in limit switches into the control so that it can't overtdrive in either direction and start breaking things. Nobody seems to mention that.

Here's more detail on the bed.

Working on the ramp today. I welded in cross member to support the spare tire rack I am mounting on the ramp outside. Also painted the metal and insulated. The wood is drying now. I used a Herculiner Truck Bed anti slip paint. It is going to take 24 hours to cure then I will put it all back together.

Got the spare tire rack mounted and ramp painted with Herculiner.

Spare tire fits well. My ramp door spring was wound too tight, but now with the tire, it seems just right.

Wrapping up this build in the next few days. I need to install solar panels, the motorcycle mount and then some misc. paint touch up and trim. Glad to be wrapping it up. I'd rather use it.

I actually got two of the three 410W panels on the roof before the rain today. I'll get the third panel and the wiring done tomorrow if all goes well.

Moved the new CTC to the backyard. All done except the Harley Mount which I'll install this weekend. Have some trees being cut down out front, so had to get it out of the driveway.

I finished the build last week, but this is the first time I've put the Harley in. It fits well.

Also running the AC straight off the solar panels. Solar powered AC... Love it!

Just realized I will actually be able to use the queen size elevator bed with the bike inside. There is enough head room. Very excited about that.

Thanks McDave. Always good to hear from you. I sold the 7*18 Vnose last June because the Harley I bought would not fit. Did Route 66 with the wife last September and she loves the Ultra Limited, so I am keeping it and built this 8*20 out to hold it while we travel. My wife finally retired and will be traveling more with me now, so this should be very comfortable for us and the Harley.

I'll be at Sturgis this year. Parking the CTC in the driveway of an Airbnb my brother is renting with some friends. Not in Sturgis proper, but somewhere between there and Rapid City. In any case, the maiden voyage of this build starts July 28.
