I switched quite a bit around! The remodel has gone great! I put up the wall panels. The wall behind the couch is actual wood pallets. The wall to the left of the coffee bar is also pallet wood. But the side walls are panels. I am so satisfied with it. I was able to put in a mini closet. I really wanted one. I put the clothes and shoes and towels in there. The bench/potty stayed the same. Hubby and I love it!!! I finally have a clean place. I hate using public bathrooms!! Which brings me to a question ... Have any of you used the pee/poo gel? Thoughts? The hole next to the coffee bar is the vent for the ac. I just need to cover it. I took out the cupboard i made. I was worried about weight. Im loving the remodel. Also, I got a tiny wood stove. I was watching videos of this one guy. His little camper is small, he was using the one in my pic. So I got one. Out fitted it to go on my door thru the window. I had watched a few videos on that as well. I just didnt want it permanent and its small enough to pack away. It can use wood, pellets, charcoal, candles, etc. we will be testing it out in a couple weeks. The only thing i need to do inside is paint the potty and the closet. I am so excited about that closet!!! Lol!!!
Next is the exterior. THE LAST thing to do. I would like it to look rustic. Wood pallets and corrugated metal. But...weight. so I was looking at exterior wallpaper. I cant paint over the flex seal. But I can use flex glue. Ill be using some screws here and there just for looks. Have any if you done this to ur exterior?
I should have gutted it when I bought it and done all of this. Hind sight!
Ill be posting some pics. Let me know what you think!

Some pics!

Our potty is a bucket and a bag. With urine it turns into a water balloon. Lol. So I was researching and found the poo gel. Its a small packet of powder. Turns into gel when you pee And poop on it. 😃

Sounds like clumping cat litter to me. Probably not biodegradable(?).

I'm trying to think of materials that would be suitable for burial in nature when boondocking. There are sawdust, cedar chip, coconut fiber (IIRC) and probably other options that might be better off grid options. Now how to eliminate the plastic bag?

We quit burying years ago. It's common in boondock camps to find catholes that have been dug up by dogs or other animals.

We use the Cleanwaste Bags that have a powder inside. Here's the MSDS:

"SubstancesPoo Powder® is a trade secret, the components of which are not regulated as hazardous under OSHA’sHazard Communication Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200."

They work well.

We use the biodegradable bags. And depending on the powder bought, they are environmentally safe. How safe? I dont know. Im researching at the moment. My dad lived off grid up until last year. He has an outhouse. Uses cedar chips. It only covers up the smell so much. I do keep cat litter in the ttt just in case.

We use the gel. It works great. We then double tie the bags, and dispose of them when we stop for gas. That's one of the main points of the gelling agent.

Hmm, so you all haul that stuff around with you. I guess that wouldn't be so bad for the occasional need... when there isn't a privy and within a tank of gas range. Sealed 5 gal bucket or one of those spare tire mounted trash-a-roo duffles... except my license plate and backup camera are mounted in the hub of my spare tire, so the trash-a-roo isn't the likely solution for me. Hmm.

If you're replying to me, we don't "haul it around." When we make a run to town for gas, ice, groceries, or whatever, it goes in the truck bed and ends up in the dump.

We've done that system for a decade or so on our month-long spring desert trips.

Can't help thinking about when I worked in the aerospace industry and our managers (and government) were worried about people going through our trash looking for proprietary information they could sell. Seems like a few "Easter Eggs" like this might have helped.

pee gel ..... look up hazardous spill containment it is available at good garden centers and of course on line. I kind of like that idea:unsure:
