Bed liner texture, but using regular paint?

I'm considering paint/finish options for my squaredrop, which is covered with fiberglass cloth & marine epoxy. I like the textured look of bedliner, but would prefer to use latex paint for ease of application. Has anyone found a way to get that look using paint?

Used to be a method of mixing play sand into your paint for a textured look. Not real sure how that worked, long-term, but it would do what you're after.

You can buy textures rollers. You need a thick paint and/or let it set up a bit and then roll over it dry.

They are really meant to work with something like diluted drywall mud which probably won't adhere well to fiberglass.

You should probably just bite the bullet and use real beadliner.

I've done that when I needed a non-skid surface on boats. Works well, but probably rougher than I'd like for the walls & roof of my camper.

Possibly there could be some sort of paint thickener available to use with a textured roller. A quick search shows it is available for craft use, but might need something more specialized for exterior use.

look at the finish on the walls in your home

that texture is created with latex interior house paint a/o having a thickened paint product sprayed or rolled onto the walls

your local big box lumber store will be able to show you some examples of what is possible

BON CHANCE !

Well, our house was built in the 1940's so our plaster is a smooth finish... but I've seen what you're talking about in newer homes.

Just a thought, test it out, but roll on some TBII with a thick knap roller and once that is dry roll on your paint.
