Buddy & Missus' Full Height Teardrop Camper Slide-In

Day 99!!! - Peel to Reveal - Building a Teardrop Camper

Today we're finally removing the skin to reveal - a - Breadbox? And I take the camperpod for the first test drive.

We decided on a thermoelectric upright cooler for the camperpod because it's lightweight and uses less power, I'm likely just going to use it with frozen foods and ice for short trips but we can power it with our allpowers S2000 for longer jaunts.

Is it a mobile glamping pod or a camperpod?
It's finished and on the road - here is the detailed interior walkthrough.

We've done it! In this video Hubby shows you the finished Camperpod - Or maybe it's a mobile glamping pod - He talks about the good, the bad, the details and show you the final result. We're quite pleased. For those of you who would prefer not to sit though 100 days of detailed videos - stay tuned for the time-lapse video I'm working on now.

I hope you enjoyed this series, we certainly learned a few things along the way.

Congratulations on building your camper the way you like it. Good job!

Don't worry about what people say. You're on Teardrop Time! (I built mine by myself and took 2 & 1/2 years. (It has now been on the road for camping trips for 13 years and I'm still happy with it.) It's much easier these days to find things that will work well in our small campers, and I enjoyed seeing all the innovative ways you used things in your camper!

Thanks for all the videos and the tours!

Thanks so much, there were so many ups and downs but hopefully it'll all be up from here :) - we love it and I'm sure we'll have a few more tweaks along the way...Is any project ever really "done" lol. We got a load of stuff on Temu, the flexible trims, all the little hooks, faucets, shelves, hardware and I'm surprised with the quality for the prices. Glad you enjoyed, it's been a long haul haha.

I haven't been able to travel in 24 years, and with our new little pod took to the road for some adventures. After many months of designing and sourcing lightweight voc-free materials, my hubby accepted the challenge to bring my vision to fruition. 100 days later we were on the road. The little pod has luxury features with a foamlight & aluminum interior, retractable RolDours, a bathroom with shower, toilet & sink, kitchen outfitted with cool low wattage retro appliances, organic hemp mattress, lots of cool lighting, awesome roller blinds, tons of great accessories, a full off-grid first aid kit, and runs on battery power. It handles surprisingly well and the fuel consumption in our CX5 didn't see any significant change, we had her on the highway, through rural winding roads, hills, gravel roads and everywhere in between. She's tucked away for winter now and hopefully we can continue our adventures in 2025.
