I have a trailer up for sale. I di not install an ac as I was trying to keep the cost down, but every inquiry asks about ac., so I'm putting one in. I have 2 install options - One is in the rear storage area next to the cooler. Hot air exhausts thru the floor, intake air comes frm vents in the side walls. In the cabin, it mounts under the interior storage cabinet where your feet go. The other is in the front wall with only 2" of ac inside. The bottom of the ac would be about 24" above your head. Thoughts?

I would think that the front wall install option would be the most straight forward. No worries about venting the exhaust since the bulk of the AC and exhaust would be mounted outside of the trailer. 5000 BTU window ACs are cheap($125) and easy to replace if it fails. Mounted 24" up leaves room for a tongue box.

I liked the Runaway Campers AC set up. So I tried to replicate in my build.

I don't have a back galley, so I mounted one through the back wall at about the same height.

I would recommend adding an enclosure to seal it up when not in use and while driving.

The front wall would be the easiest, but the unit would be no more than 22" off the floor (18" off the mattress) and the potential head banging (not in a heavy metal way) has me concerned. The is also the issue of getting 120v up there. Thanks for the input.
